Frost will turn it around

I'm concerned with recruiting. As already mentioned, we have had a huge roster turnover of Riley guys. But tied to that, we have had a good chunk of Frost guys not make it or not pan out. I mean a lot. Especially Jucos. This is not good for next year, let alone this year. They are recruiting better DLine and OLine guys, but they will be years in development.

I'm also concerned with S&C and whether or not the smaller speedy guys can make it in this program. I can't remember the last time Mo played a complete game. All of our skill players are getting banged up every week. I'm not sure how that changes over time? It would seem to be a fixture of this type of offense. Maybe that is an artifact of depth and age. I hope it is.

I am starting to fear we hired Turner Gill. Did something (once) nobody thought could be done. Won the hiring press conference. Says all the right things with supreme confidence. Legendary player. Teams were undisciplined and couldn't get it done on the field.

I just want to see signs of improvement. There haven't been any yet.

Keep hearing this.

Myself, I believe he will but that’s just based on my blind faith in him nothing else. We have to give him his due time which is at least 5 years. We must make a bowl game this year. If not, this thing might never get going.

If you do believe Frost will turn this around, what are you basing that belief in?

He looks lost on the sideline and other than coach speak says nothing in the post game interviews, is he in over his head?

Tom Brady might want to coach in a few years. Being serious.

Frost can get it done eventually. Need to change strategies though

At the end of the 2022 season, we'll all know by then if Frost and his staff are really getting it done and turned the corner, 5 years is plenty of time to gauge the success or failure under their leadership. If they haven't at least hit the 9 win mark what do you do? Let them hang around for the remainder of his contract and see what happens, or tell them to pound sand? It will be interesting to see how Nebraska football looks at the end of Frost's 5th year.

Need a solid defense and good lineman to make it in the BIG. We got shut out by minny. Minny...... lol.

I really have the confidence that if coach frost needs to make changes with his assistant he will do so when the time is right, I believe his love for this program will overshadow any friendship he has with his assistants. Friendship is one thing but business is business.

How do you have this insight about frost? He doesn’t even know you exist. He’s going to make a few mil then get out.

I read these posts and it makes so sad to be a husker fan for life but the state of the entire program is in the dumps right now. Really worry we are counting on recruitment by Frosty to dig us out of this 20-year hole, but once again I am concerned that we don’t hold onto some of the find recruits (although) a low number throughout this current recruiting cycle which will only place more pressure on each successive recruiting. Frost was my choice so I refuse to be a puss and say fire him because he was or is my man and I have faith in him for the next 7 years. I also expect him to do the right thing for the husker football program and the state of Nebraska as our chosen son! Good, bad, or indifferent I will stick with Mr. Frosty, but if coaches must go or players must sit - he better f’in make it happen. Practice harder and strive to limit miscues and for the love of the corn heads around the world stop telling how great practices are, or summer ball was great and S&C is incredible and instead just show us how great jurgens is and that AM is the best QB in the B10 by doing it on the field of battle instead of through the press.

Almost alf of Scott's first recruiting class isn't even here anymore, or didn't qualify: Smith, Jones, Bell, Dixon, Jackson, McGriff, Watt, Canty, LeGrone, Hunt. A couple others are JUCOs who will be graduating without contributing (Williams & Woodyard). All of the highest-ranked recruits from the 2017 class are gone (Gebbia, Johnson, Roberts, Thomas, Lindsey) or have been busts (McQuitty).

Hopefully the 2019 class doesn't have similar attrition. It's hard to develop a team when your best athletes don't stick around for more than a year.
Frost's first class was a last minute fill to try to address obvious roster needs. By necessity there were quite a few reaches and failures. Riley's last full class was full of busts. Therein lies the problem right now for Frost. People calling for heads to roll are calling for continued turmoil and failure. We HAVE to stay the course for the time being. Austin can't fix the O line in a year and a half. Chinander and his staff can't fix the linebacker spots in a year and a half and safety is decimated by injury. I don't even count that first recruiting class. Let this years freshman get to be juniors before we start judging this staff's recruiting.

If he keeps recruiting well I believe he will absolutely turn it around. It’s at least a 3 year fix. I don’t think a lot of people realize just how much of a train wreck the last two coaches left behind.

Even though it is only year two, the schedule appeared to be soft enough to win at least 8 games. The schedules the next few years are scary. We laughed when told Pelini assistants celebrated nine wins. Find nine wins a year in 2020-2022 even with a lot of improvement.

NOBODY expected Wisconsin to be as good as they are. SOME guys actually picked Minnesota to win the west. They aren't as big of a surprise as most NU fans think.
