I'm pumping the brakes on this. Yes there's some things that have seemed strange ever since the ou debacle and Moos sudden retirement.
To me the most easily blatant violation would be the analyst issue. I think it's pretty spelled out what they can and cannot do. Frost knows or should know the rules and same goes for the analyst. You know why you were hired and your job description....or should.
Where's the compliance department in this? Maybe they only deal with the athletes.
Ever since the transfer portal and now nil was allowed the NCAA has allowed everything to become the wild wild west. This they will crack down on to try to prove their relevance.
Will be interesting if nu puts out a self imposed penalty or do they wait for NCAA investigation to go through and announce findings. Get rid of analyst's for 2 years? Surely the NCAA could recognize it did us no good!! Maybe they'll feel sorry for us if we show them our game film of special teams play over the last 3 seasons.
Detroit News is saying one of Michigan's analysts was coaching this spring too!
Programs should follow the rules, but it isn't just Nebraska apparently.
Arizona State has suspended multiple coaches recently.
ASU violations were on a complete different level imo. Bringing in visitors during NCAA shut down
Oh look a Clone troll on the ‘brasky boards! Kirk’s guys are fine, they’re ready to go. Likely beat you in two weeks just to let you know that. Enjoy your season.Neb situation is easily rectified. Iowa’s situation is not.
I was posting about the racial issues and a 66 year old coach that refused to remove his son after son’s involvement in creating the racial issues. That court case involving many former players is going to drag on for years and the stain is going to last until the whole staff is eradicated. Neb will get rid of Frost for non-performance but Ferentz will be around unless a messy divorce ensues. Recruiting in Iowa City is cratering and will continue as competing programs will point out to recruits that inclusion is a core value in their programs. They won’t even have to point out the issues in Iowa City, as the recruits are pretty bright kids.Oh look a Clone troll on the ‘brasky boards! Kirk’s guys are fine, they’re ready to go. Really hoping that’s the case. At this point, my main hope for the season is to get more incriminating evidence against Frost to lower his buyout at the end of the seasonMaybe we now know why this got leaked out. It seemed odd and I figured it was nothing but a disgruntled employee or something like that and the news would come and go, but maybe this will be used as internal leverage for a lower buyout and both parties move on.
It is obvious that was leaked for the reasons you mentioned. The only problem with that happening is the expectation of more games like today because the players won’t lay it on the line for a lame duck coach.Really hoping that’s the case. After today’s game I’m ok with it.It is obvious that was leaked for the reasons you mentioned. The only problem with that happening is the expectation of more games like today because the players won’t lay it on the line for a lame duck coach.
Frankly, I believe leaking it was bush league. They could have accomplished the same thing without publicizing it. Going public hurts the kids, and recruiting. After today’s game I’m ok with it.
What recruiting? This staff is a bunch of incompetent clownsFrankly, I believe leaking it was bush league. They could have accomplished the same thing without publicizing it. Going public hurts the kids, and recruiting.
In situations where coaches aren’t getting it done, there will always be negative consequences on players. For example, if we get rid of Frost, next years seniors will play their last year under a coach they didn’t sign up to play for, that sucks for them.Frankly, I believe leaking it was bush league. My point is they didn’t have to go public as they could have notified Frost in-house of the violations and self reported. It still represents cause and maintains the same leverage. Maybe that did happen and reporters got wind, but I am skeptical of the timing. In situations where coaches aren’t getting it done, there will always be negative consequences on players. As a fan, I hope our athletic administration is looking at this from a purely business standpoint. If we want to fire Frost we have to find out a way to lower the $20 million buyout. We are building a $155 million facility right now, so cash savings is important.
Is it unfortunate that kids will be hurt by the Frost failures? Yes. But our administrators must to what’s best for the program
