I believe Frost will get this club turned around 1 way or another. I think he spoke the ugly truth or at least as much as he could. I believe he will find the guys he will go to war with as he said and the others will either get it together or ride the pine. I think this game will become the turning point for the staff and the players to hold ppl accountable. At least I hope so. Gbr!

The first game of the Riley era Nebraska had the lead over BYU and Armstrong was allowed to snap the ball with more than 14 seconds left on the play clock several times. BYU got the ball back deep after a sucky third and 4 wide run play failed. BYU ran a draw that went for big yards and had time for the Hail Mary I was critical at that time because it was stupid football. I was critical, but I don't think I was "extremely negative". Same thing now. I was critical of the Colorado time management, the Troy gameplan and didn't post much after the Michigan game as I recall. When I see bad football, I call it out.

I suggest maybe the same kind of comments made by people now as were made about Riley in his first few games are perceived as overly negative because Scott was our MNC QB, Osborne likes him, he was born in Nebraska, he was 12-0 last year, he inherited soft players, etc. But I don't, I go by what I see on the field. Once I see football that isn't a mess in every phase, I will gladly be back to drinking the Kool Aid.

As far as my post above, Frost and his coaches have been good so far in saying everyone needs to get better including them. He didn't this time, he torched the players, not the staff and it sort of reminded me of when Pelini said the plan was good, "we just didn't execute."
I kind of get what you're saying but the Colorado and BYU time management were light years different. BYU was botched completely but Colorado was actually handled how it's supposed to.

He said he needs to evaluate play calls, sets, and the complexity of the offense. He needs to watch tape to figure out what needs to change on defense. So he did point out that there needs to be changes on his end. A coach doesn't have to say he was a pile of **** just because his team lost. There were enough plays on the field to win the game, that is the coaches job. At some point corners need to turn around and pick the ball, dlineman need to beat their guy, wrs need to finish blocks...and if they can't we won't win. IN THE DEED THE GLORY! It doesn't say, the coach called the right play and I did what I was told!
Everything you said is all on coaching. Our coaches need to teach our players to turn around and look for the ball. Our WRs need to be coached to finish blocks. We have the same WRs we did last year, but we were much better blockers last year.

It's true coaches aren't on the field, and patience is a virtue. Still, it's a fine line in the blame game. Coaches get pay raises and contract extensions when they win . . . and players get the blame when teams lose. Logic doesn't support that approach. Frost will get every chance to prove himself.
BS. Coaches almost always shoulder the blame when a team loses unless some guys make individual boneheaded plays. Sure players take the heat too but ultimately the coach is the one who the blame falls on because he decides who's in the game. I've never seen a college fire a bunch of players after a year like we had last year and we probably should have.

BS, you didn't read the post I quoted. Those caught up in a cult of personality are the ones who exonerate coaches when they lose and laud them when they win. It happens in sports and politics.

You know what I just don't get? Everyone seems to think ol' Frosty can come in and wave a magic wand and a championship is right around the corner.

Here is reality - you guys are 2 years behind Purdue and Minnesota in their rebuilds with equivalent coaching/recruiting talent to Frost and his staff. Maybe if you all had the balls to give Frosty his shot instead of Riley you would be in a better place by now.

We all had the balls? WTF, not a person here asked for Mike Riley. That's freakin' laughable. And if you check the recruiting rankings the last 5 years we have blown the doors off those two teams. Put down the pipe.
