I get that Frost has to answer questions. And I’m sure he believes that. But all the talk has become old. It was old years ago. Come this offseason we will be talking about the weight room gains, player xyz looking like an all American at the spring game. At this point, 7-6 will be a turnaround.

You are interesting. You have a long history here and I would say that you have been a pretty solid poster, but from the first game of the Frost era, you ave been extremely negative. What’s the story.

It was after a time-out also. The whole play was a mess.
I’m personally not used to running out of shotgun on 4th down like we did in the first half either. That shouldn’t work against decent teams. Don’t we have a goal line package for short yardage? I get that the shotgun is Frost’s MO but those shotgun run plays don’t make any sense in my opinion
The boot makes sense but the execution was disaster

I respect your posts, but this might be a bit far fetched. I think it is going to take a couple years of Frosts guys in here. I don't see how it can turn so rapidly after what we are seeing this year, without basically getting a whole new team.

I watched several pro teams run successful short yardage and goal line plays out of the shotgun last week. It isn't what we're used to but the only play it eliminates is the QB sneak....or fullback trap.

Tongue was firmly planted in my cheek. I do think we win more than 1 this year yet but then I thought we would find a way to beat Purdue today too.

I agree. It's going to be a slow progression. We might be lucky to win 1 game this year. Next year will be better.

I’m open minded. I don’t doubt it can work with NFL talent/execution. Hope it can work here too. That 4th down turnover on downs was a big missed opportunity in the first half.

Well running it with Bell definitely doesn't help either. He should never be in on a 3rd or 4th down short yardage situation.

UCLA has top 17 type classes the past 5 years and loads of problems. Frost & Co will need to get better players and take stock of their own abilities on the sidelines.

Not sure what he brings to the table over our other backs. No doubt our coaches see something but hasn't translated to the games yet.

It would be interesting to have some short yardage and goal line sets that werent' out of this up-tempo offensive shotgun set-up.

That could really mess with another team's gameplan.

I hope they can install some new stuff this off-season. Would be fun to see us lineup in power with a fullback once in awhile.

Not sure if it's just wishful thinking but I hope Frost has an ability to adapt. If he is completely stubborn in his adaptation to the Big 10 and the nuances of coaching at Nebraska, he might not be successful.

The best OCs have a pretty open mind.

How often would you feel comfortable in a short yardage situation against Oregon or UCF? Nebraska is a hot mess in comparison but the point is that neither when working right were easy to stop. I think as times passes we’ll see a more sophisticated offense that will open things up. Right now I think until they get the vanilla down and clean up the mistakes we get what we see..8

It's true coaches aren't on the field, and patience is a virtue. Still, it's a fine line in the blame game. Coaches get pay raises and contract extensions when they win . . . and players get the blame when teams lose. Logic doesn't support that approach. Frost will get every chance to prove himself.

It really doesn’t matter what they say. When we lose we never enjoy anything the coaches say.

You know what I just don't get? Everyone seems to think ol' Frosty can come in and wave a magic wand and a championship is right around the corner.

Here is reality - you guys are 2 years behind Purdue and Minnesota in their rebuilds with equivalent coaching/recruiting talent to Frost and his staff. Maybe if you all had the balls to give Frosty his shot instead of Riley you would be in a better place by now.

Yup. Zig makes a lot more sense--160 yards tonite. Washington would have made a difference too.

Most were expecting to be around .500 this year. That was a reasonable goal. No excuse to be undisciplined, stupid, and winless at this point. Frost & Co deserve a ton of blame.

Nebraska did beat Purdue last year, they’re not two years behind.

The first game of the Riley era Nebraska had the lead over BYU and Armstrong was allowed to snap the ball with more than 14 seconds left on the play clock several times. BYU got the ball back deep after a sucky third and 4 wide run play failed. BYU ran a draw that went for big yards and had time for the Hail Mary I was critical at that time because it was stupid football. I was critical, but I don't think I was "extremely negative". Same thing now. I was critical of the Colorado time management, the Troy gameplan and didn't post much after the Michigan game as I recall. When I see bad football, I call it out.

I suggest maybe the same kind of comments made by people now as were made about Riley in his first few games are perceived as overly negative because Scott was our MNC QB, Osborne likes him, he was born in Nebraska, he was 12-0 last year, he inherited soft players, etc. But I don't, I go by what I see on the field. Once I see football that isn't a mess in every phase, I will gladly be back to drinking the Kool Aid.

As far as my post above, Frost and his coaches have been good so far in saying everyone needs to get better including them. He didn't this time, he torched the players, not the staff and it sort of reminded me of when Pelini said the plan was good, "we just didn't execute."

Every situation is different...sometimes you take over a team that had a great couple recruiting classes 3 years ago and are maturing into real men and you have a couple of great season in your first couple years. This happens often at major programs. Rarely does a program hire a 70 year old coach with a career losing record, who was likely going to be fired from a doormat of a power 5 team. And then allow that coach to stay for 3 years. Reminds me of Blake taking over for Schnellenberger at OU. That place was an absolute dumpster fire. Blake recruited lights out while he kept losing and then Stoops walked into a fully stocked team. There are so many variables that affect success. This team hasn't had a quality win since 2015, and that was because Michigan State screwed the pooch. So we haven't gone mano y mano with a good team since.....

He said he needs to evaluate play calls, sets, and the complexity of the offense. He needs to watch tape to figure out what needs to change on defense. So he did point out that there needs to be changes on his end. A coach doesn't have to say he was a pile of **** just because his team lost. There were enough plays on the field to win the game, that is the coaches job. At some point corners need to turn around and pick the ball, dlineman need to beat their guy, wrs need to finish blocks...and if they can't we won't win. IN THE DEED THE GLORY! It doesn't say, the coach called the right play and I did what I was told!
