I'm a 57 yo idiot when it comes to avatars. Would like to attach Van Gogh's self portrait with bandaged ear (I'm an Artist). Can someone simplify this for me? I know I have been here for many years, and should know better...Oh! I'm using an android phone.

Click on your picture two or three times and then it will open to where it allows you to pick your picture you want to load. You have a picture now not sure why you'd need other simpler instructions.

@TTTblue24 , can you load the photo on your laptop in your pictures library and resize it there?
Once you get it in your pictures library, right click on it. Then click on "mail recipient". The drop down box on the next screen should say "medium", that should be small enough. Email it to yourself then voila.

Mine is actually a picture of me and my wife back in December at my daughters 12th birthday party. Used to have my Drill Sergeant picture or an angry dog but I think both scared a few posters (I won't mention the snowflakes by name) so I went with a more kinder gentler me.

• Find a picture you like.
• Save it to your computer destop
• go to your profile (top right of blue bar on your screen), and hover on it.
• go to Avatar
• choose "custom avatar"
• click "choose file" - the pic you saved
• center it, click "OK"
