I implore you to get one. It really adds to your profile/remarks (at least in my mind). It reflects your personality a little, makes it easier for someone that may like your opinions to see you, etc.

Anybody else feel this way?

If doing it on computer:
  • Find a picture you like.
  • Save it to your computer desktop
  • go to your profile (top right of blue bar on your screen), and hover on it.
  • select "Avatar"
  • choose "custom avatar"
  • click "choose file" - the pic you saved
  • center it, click "OK"
For those doing it on your phone - see post 28 of this thread.

For some reason, I always feel you have serious issues with going #2. That last avatar you had looked like a real case of comstipation, and now, the dog scooting its *** like that - you need to get regular man.

Full agreement. Have switched my so many times I sometimes forget which one I’m using and have to do a double take to make sure it is mine...

I didn't have one for the longest time, until recently someone posted a pic of Fred Sanford having a (fake) heart attack photoshopped with a UK jersey. That made me laugh enough that I stole it an made it my avatar. It reminded me of how UK teams stress me out. That was one of my favorite shows from the 70's.

For you younger people:

I'm a 57 yo idiot when it comes to avatars. Would like to attach Van Gogh's self portrait with bandaged ear (I'm an Artist). Can someone simplify this for me? I know I have been here for many years, and should know better...Oh! I'm using an android phone.

Save the photo you want to use to the photo gallery of your phone.
Then click on the avatar button on the top right of your phones screen (to the right of the "CATS illustrated") heading. Then click the "Add avatar" (I think that's what it says) button and choose "documents". You should see your photo in there.
