What was the rationale for Poz to redshirt? Genuinely curious. He is redshirting.
1st year-Poz redshirts, Soldano goes this yearWhat was the rationale for Poz to redshirt? Genuinely curious.
interestingThat is what Poz wanted. Very simple
interesting
any risk of him leaving?
just general chatter about Poz going back to last year...but I am no insider...just reacting to what I read here, thus my question...Why? Almost all college wrestlers redshirt at some point.
The risk, if there is any, would come from Poz thinking 184 was his best chance of success and Soldano being in the way. So it depends on how things work out next year. There has been suggestion of Soldano redshirting, but I don't understand how that makes sense if he proves to be as strong as we expect. Hard to know when we don't hear about all the thinking around the situation. Why? Almost all college wrestlers redshirt at some point.

Lol because that strategy worked SO well with Correnti and Mulligan all those years ago.1st year-Poz redshirts, Soldano goes this year
2nd year- Someone grows out of the weight class or Soldano has redshirt
3rd year-hopefully it all works itself out
I'm hoping we can convince O'Malley from Drexel to transfer here for 174. Turley sad to say, I'm not sure if he can regain the ability to be that AA wrestler he was before the injuries.Would either consider dropping to 174?
Poz/Soldano are diff caliber of wrestlers from Correnti/Mulligan.. don’t think mulligan ever even wrestled a full season.. Correnti had a promising fresh season… forgot why he ended up transferring outLol because that strategy worked SO well with Correnti and Mulligan all those years ago.
This. Poz is a phenomenal wrestler that has already achieved great things as a true frosh. He had a rougher second year but is still a friggen tank.Poz/Soldano are diff caliber of wrestlers from Correnti/Mulligan.. don’t think mulligan ever even wrestled a full season.. Correnti had a promising fresh season… forgot why he ended up transferring out
Mulligan never really showed anything other then he was more interested in partying ...the other guy along with SG and Nic were more into smoking pot then wrestling ..anyone remember them all being suspended for that seasons first quad ...that's why !Poz/Soldano are diff caliber of wrestlers from Correnti/Mulligan.. don’t think mulligan ever even wrestled a full season.. Aguilar was never expected to AA coming out of hs.. he overperformed fresh year n ppl started thinking he could be future AA.. Aragona yes.. but he quit after going Cambell so doubt he woulda been good anywhere else.. Camp couldn’t get it done at Ohio state so.. Correnti good fresh year then regressed.. didn’t do much at rider.. Gentile?? He barely wrestled.. Glasgow… we got the wrong bound brook kid..Mason.. never did any better at Minn.. looked best at RU.. 3rd seed but yeah..Winston injured/ r12.. ranked 2nd class recruit..Based on expectations at time of entering Rutgers, about 11 wrestlers underperformed and 5 outperformed.
Underperformed means did not AA when projected and outperformed means AA when not projected.
Aguilar, Aragona, Camp, Correnti, Gentile, Giraldo, Glasgow, Mason, Melde, White, and Winston
DelVecchio, Perrotti, Poz, Theobold, and Turley
How do these results compared with other top 20 teams?
This is a loaded question. Can you name anyone aside from I guess Cassar that Penn State brought in that reached AA status that wasn’t expected to? Probably not because almost everyone they bring in is a potential AA from the jump. Alternatively, their list of potential AA’s that didn’t reach that status is probably twice as long as ours, since they have the resources to move on from a “bust” a lot faster than we can. I don’t think this is something you can measure quantitatively and compare across programs.Based on expectations at time of entering Rutgers, about 11 wrestlers underperformed and 5 outperformed.

Scott Goodale is more interested in smoking pot? Or is that Sean Gleeson? Too many SG'sMulligan never really showed anything other then he was more interested in partying ...the other guy along with SG and Nic were more into smoking pot then wrestling ..anyone remember them all being suspended for that seasons first quad ...that's why !
I think Sean Gleeson simultaneously needs to smoke more pot so he can relax on the sideline, but also needs to smoke less so he can get his brain functioning enough to call a play on timeScott Goodale is more interested in smoking pot? Or is that Sean Gleeson? Too many SG's
Only Grey was AA in this group?Every school has misses....Not really sure how you measure and would not even include some that you put on the list as "RU's misses".
Cornell- these are top 100(not their weight ranking). There are many others but these were very high ones.
