My point wasn’t that it’s a bad statistical profile. They are IN on most forecasts while most bracketologists don’t even have us on the radar.

Losses to Lafayette and UMass are worse than their losses to Pacific and Utah Valley but all of the above are bad losses even if the computer numbers say Lafayette is worse than the others.

Their good wins aren’t in the same universe as ours. You are calling a 5 point win over Liberty a “decent win” - our win over Clemson is better than that one. That says it all. The win profile should at least have equal weight to how much “worse our losses are compared to theirs”.

Their win over Liberty is as good or better than ours over Clemson..yes

There is no way a 2 possession home win over Liberty is “better” than a 10 point home win over Clemson. It’s not better than the road win at Maryland either. But the point that Liberty is included on BYU’s decent win list proves my point that their wins aren’t on the same planet as Rutgers.

Our good wins are - Purdue, OSU, Michigan State (by 21), Iowa and Michigan

Theirs are - Oregon (by 32 /neutral), SDSU (home), St Marys (home), @ SF

If you add Liberty you also have to add the 2 above for RU which makes an even worse case on bYUs wins.

Liberty was a neutral site and you don't even know the particulars of the game

Maryland is not a good team..neither is Clemson

Stop judging BYU as a power 6 conference school

plus not sure why you are getting so worked about parsing resumes that are incomplete with 3 regular season plus conference tourney left

This is just a snapshot today

There are two solutions: Either schedule better, or don't lose to freaking Lafayette and UMass.
Yup. Cupcakeland backfired on us this year. If we had lost to real teams instead of UMass and Lafayette, it’s a different story.

Clemson stealing the autobid just takes away a bubble spot.
The real joke in the ACC is UNC. They are a projected tournament team at 17-7 and I think their best win is vs. Michigan. Almost all of their wins are garbage.

It’s showing on some of the sites as home. I see it’s Hawaii when I click to the game summary. I guess a neutral win is a little better. But Liberty is not a good team. Look at some of their losses.

Also - I suppose we ought to treat the WCC as a power conference this year if we’re currently projecting the 5th place team in their standings who already has 8 losses to get a bid - no?

The snapshot as of today simply depicts how much that Lafayette loss is hurting RU compared to other teams. Go back to the Florida comparison if you prefer the official Power conference comparison. The bottom line is we will continue to pay for it with uncertainty even if we notch 3 more Q1 wins.
