We saw that tonight, looked really low in the sky to be a meteor shower

Saw one about 5:45 Saturday going from SE to NW direction, saw it for about 2-3 seconds but it was too reddish looking to be a meteor I thought.

So does a satellite just burn completely up on re-entry like a meteorite? Seems a little shady for a Chinese satellite to conveniently burn up over the US. And, yes, I’ll always be skeptical of anything those communist bastards do since 2020.
It happens all the time but usually they get the satellite to burn up over the ocean to avoid any possible debris issues.

Does anyone remember all the panic when Skylab returned through the atmosphere. Didn’t they force it down so it would land in the pacific?

Most nations do. But China generally doesn’t give a sh*t where their satellites fall & burn up. If someone gets hit by debris, too bad.
Read this morning that the satellite had been unresponsive for some time so they couldn’t send it commands to put its orbit over the Pacific to burn up.
