Saw one about 5:45 Saturday going from SE to NW direction, saw it for about 2-3 seconds but it was too reddish looking to be a meteor I thought.

It happens all the time but usually they get the satellite to burn up over the ocean to avoid any possible debris issues.

Most nations do. But China generally doesn’t give a sh*t where their satellites fall & burn up. If someone gets hit by debris, too bad.

They're probably re-entering at 15,000-20,000mph. They'll slow down some due to friction with the atmosphere, but not a whole lot I wouldn't think.
