Wrestle like we are capable of doing and we can be Top 5. Fix will get more points than Pic earned this year, Brock should be better and finish in the top 4. Gfeller should AA so that's more than what Heil was able to do this year and Boo seems to be trending up. Smith being back at 157 will mean more points. I have no clue what to think with Rogers, he could go out in the second round or make AA again but he seems to only be getting better. I think Jacobe will be better and he was an AA this year. Hard to know how a FR will fair at the upper weights but Wittlake looks like he could push whomever is in the room at 84. Hopefully Preston can get healthy and if so that's more points. Finally Andrews has the ability to AA as well. Next year will be better, how much depends on how much of a leap some of these guys make.

This might very well be true and happen but it’s not near enough to take PSU down. They are so well coached and peak at the perfect time

White is a JR amd will be back next year. I don’t see any way he is not the starter at HWT, except via injury.

andrews does not have AA capability I'm sorry but thats just laughable. Wittlake will likely redshirt and wrestle at 174. Finally having AA's is nice but doesn't get us closer to a national title. Top 5 finishes are nice, but not in these parts. The standard is winning national titles.

I was just responding to the post saying maybe we finish in the top 10 next year. I have a separate opinion about how close we are to winning it again but much like in youth sports I feel it’s best to wait 24 hours before addressing the coach.

Meant DW at hwt, was looking at the roster last night and still had the 97s pulled up. Not Andrew AA at hwt.

The lack of elite wrestlers is a concern of mine. There’s no way to win a ship without having guys in the finals. Pic is a world away from the top. Brock looks like the same kid from last year who struggles on bottom and with strength. I don’t see anyone else who wrestled this year who is competitive with the top 2 or 3 at their weight. Preston would have a chance if he can improve on his feet (hasn’t yet happended). White could be a factor if he can gain additional size. We need our best guys to continue to develop. Didn’t see that occur this season for the most part. See preseason wrestler rankings compared to NCAA finishes. Thought Boo, Smith and White did improve. They’re just a ways away from elite.

Hopefully our two redshirts come in with a fire and aggressive style which rubs off on the rest of the room. Penn State is a monster. Without NCAA sanctions they are set for an historic run. It is what it is.

125 - There are 4 guys I wish Picc could have stayed away from until the medal rounds. Unfortunately, Lee and Lizak were two of them. I know the issues he has with rangy opponents will be a focus in the offseason.

133 - The loss to NC St was a disappointment but it became more understandable as the weekend advanced. He can beat Pletcher, but he has to clean things up. Everyone that placed ahead of him returns next year, so he has work to do.

141- We are at the point that all we can do is celebrate the two titles he won. He earned them.

149 - He lost to the top two guys in the weight class and a past NCAA champion. He showed the ability we all knew was there that led to criticism and some hurt feelings on this board after the Iowa dual. Proud of the way he finished and excited for his future.

157 - Big question going forward. Who will it be? Can Smith get down there? If not, we need a transfer.

165 - It’s not likely but Rogers could put together a tournament like Conel did this year with throws and pins. It could be Joe places higher here than 157.

174 - The best performance of the weekend. Seems to be able to score in about any situation. Hoping that he can have a big year 2 improvement and can be a threat to be a high AA.

184 - Keegan just needs to keep grinding. This is a tough weight for Freshman. The recent PFB article on Boyd reminds us that he also went 0-2 at his first NCAA and he finished as a 2X AA.

197 - A healthy Weigel could have had a chance to win it all this year. This weight loses a lot of wrestlers to graduation.

285 - White gets my vote for team MVP this season. There were 5 guys I wish he could have avoided and he got 2 of those guys in his first 4 matches. Tough bracket. Of returning wrestlers, I would rank him #4 next year. Stevenson plus a redshirt or two may push him down. On the other hand, he could show continued progress and pass Nevills and/or Stoll.
