125 - There are 4 guys I wish Picc could have stayed away from until the medal rounds. Unfortunately, Lee and Lizak were two of them. I know the issues he has with rangy opponents will be a focus in the offseason.
133 - The loss to NC St was a disappointment but it became more understandable as the weekend advanced. He can beat Pletcher, but he has to clean things up. Everyone that placed ahead of him returns next year, so he has work to do.
141- We are at the point that all we can do is celebrate the two titles he won. He earned them.
149 - He lost to the top two guys in the weight class and a past NCAA champion. He showed the ability we all knew was there that led to criticism and some hurt feelings on this board after the Iowa dual. Proud of the way he finished and excited for his future.
157 - Big question going forward. Who will it be? Can Smith get down there? If not, we need a transfer.
165 - It’s not likely but Rogers could put together a tournament like Conel did this year with throws and pins. It could be Joe places higher here than 157.
174 - The best performance of the weekend. Seems to be able to score in about any situation. Hoping that he can have a big year 2 improvement and can be a threat to be a high AA.
184 - Keegan just needs to keep grinding. This is a tough weight for Freshman. The recent PFB article on Boyd reminds us that he also went 0-2 at his first NCAA and he finished as a 2X AA.
197 - A healthy Weigel could have had a chance to win it all this year. This weight loses a lot of wrestlers to graduation.
285 - White gets my vote for team MVP this season. There were 5 guys I wish he could have avoided and he got 2 of those guys in his first 4 matches. Tough bracket. Of returning wrestlers, I would rank him #4 next year. Stevenson plus a redshirt or two may push him down. On the other hand, he could show continued progress and pass Nevills and/or Stoll.
