I usually have the wife take the kids somewhere else during the game so I have no distractions and can freely cuss and throw ****

Screw that - I've been teaching my kids from a young age how to properly cuss and throw **** while watching MSU football on TV.

Yea, I'm kind of surprised people not interested enough to watch the game are interested enough to post on a message board.
Seriously. What kind of person decides to post almost literally every day on a Mississippi State sports message board but doesn't care enough to watch football games live? I genuinely can't wrap my mind around it.

Luckily for me, I get decent cardio from my job, and lifting weights is something I semi-enjoy doing. But just the thought of running for the hell of it exhausts me. I certainly understand the mental and physical benefits from running though.
I'm not sure there are that many physical benefits that can't be achieved doing other things. Stress on the knees and hips, it raises cortisol, lowers testosterone, etc. Perhaps it's more beneficial for women.

The kind of person that lies about 'not caring'. They care. Again, it's self preservation for when we lose.

No doubt. I had no idea we have such terrible fans. Riding bikes and playing tennis instead of watching the dawgs.

It isnt instead of watching them though. It actually allows me to watch AND enjoy other things in life because I simply dont care if I am watching the game live or delayed. It doesnt change my watching experience or my enjoyment.

Im at work and missing out on seeing my kids more than I want as it is, so if they are doing something interesting during the 3 hours of weekend when MSU is playing, yup I will choose to watch my kids do what they enjoy or spend time with them outside on a bike ride/kayaking/whatever else.

I am OK with being called a terrible fan. Im called worse here on a regular basis and dont take it to heart because I accept that everyone has different priorities in life, and recognize that many arent capable of accepting that others may have different priorities than them.

Here is a little secret- I also watch about half the basketball games on replay without knowing the result! EEK- how terrible!!

You mean to say your entire identity isn't wrapped up in which schools 18-22 year olds perform best at a given activity?

Do you donate any money to the University?

Yes I have in the past, but I dont actively donate as in there is not some scheduled donation in perpetuity or anything.
What does my donation history to the school have to do with the price of tea in China?

Why so defensive?

To answer your question, it proves what type of fan you are. You live way out of state, and don't go to hardly any games (your own admission). You don't watch many live (understandable) but you also don't donate much money. You do come to the message board to voice your opinion. Fair, you have that right, but just know that you are being a pretty bad fan.

Whether or not being a good fan is necessary or not, can be debated. But we all agree that for MSU to be successful we need a lot of good fans. I would encourage you to try and be one. I get it, though, sports is entertainment for a lot of people and should not affect your personal lives. But again, we all should agree, that if you want to see MSU win, fans have to buy in and collectively move the needle. That's what winning programs do, whether you like it or not.

Hey I get it. I hate running. People that actually enjoy running should be studied in a lab somewhere. My job requires it and so does my health, so I suffer through it. Not on game day though!

To each their own I guess. Watching the Dawgs can be a family event. Some of my most fond memories growing up with my family are watching the dawgs on tv, in person, or listening to Jack call the game on the radio.

Ha ha, this **** is gold. I havent said that I dont donate often, i simply said that i have donated in the past and dont actively(as in currently) donate. Why you correlate that to being a fan is beyond me. Also, to clarify(it was clear already, but lets try again)- My donations have been to the academic side of things.
I also havent said that I dont watch many MSU games live- I watch MSU football, volleyball, M basketball, and W basketball. I simply said I delay watching most of the day football games live. If 8 of the 12 football games are during the day and I watch 3 live, then I have watched 5 delayed.
Seriously- this rant you went on is over 5 games that are still watched, just not live. And 3 of which will probably be against lesser OOC teams. Boo17inghoo.

Sure, i can agree that in general MSU needs a lot of good fans to be successful. If watching 5 football games on replay instead of live makes me a bad fan then call me a bad fan, I guess. Toss that up under my screenname, why not.
