Too much overreaction and false information floating on here... To provide some clarity:

1. PJ is very likely NOT going to play tomorrow. Hard cast option was chosen based on the assumption he was going to sit the first two games anyways. Yes, a hard cast CAN come off whenever the staff wants; however, you are not fully utilizing it's benefits if you're frequently uncasting-testing-casting.

2. Info about PJ's dad wanting PJ shut down - this is partially true. PJ is in pain. There was some question around the program about him pushing through the pain for the opening weekend. PJ's dad was against this as most fathers would be. However, he has NOT advocated for his son to sit for the draft. Paul will let PJ make that decision - this isn't a Tremont Waters situation LOL.

3. PJ wants to play. He's loved around the locker room by the staff and players - any of you who watched the game last night can tell his invested in his teammates. Great kid.

Sources consist of a financial planner and a current UK booster who's a local doctor and been involved in the program for 25+ years.

First post? Yes. I follow the site for recruiting information as I don't have any intel on that.

As a bonus...

4. Not enough of you are talking about the matchup from Wofford's angle - How can they defend UK? Expect to get a heavy dose early of Travis post ups; once Wofford doubles, up to our wings to make shots and get in the lane. Should be a great opportunity for Keldon to continue to attack the lane and for Baker and Immanuel to get some looks. Herro will do Herro things.

5. Staff feels great about this matchup. Size and quickness even the playing field - watch how we chase the shooters off the 3 point line into our length. Shooting 40%+ from three doesn't matter if they only take 15...

Drew Franklin just tweeted a picture of PJ. Still in the boot, still getting around on a leg scooter. He's not playing.

Thanks for the update. Sounds legit. Ends alot of speculation and confirming most. I think pj protecting himself as much as anyone is. When he ready to go. He will. Question is? If we keep advancing without him. Lets hope, injury heals asap. And he gears up. Once and for all. As the beast he truly can be.

Lol there was a dude on FB today saying he had close sources that PJ’s Dad was shutting him down for the draft. Just my opinion, but PJ stands to gain a lot by playing in the tournament. Could work himself into late lotto with an MOP type performance. If he doesn’t play for the rest of the season, then I will assume it’s because he simply was in too much pain. If he doesn’t play again, he’s likely a late first to early second round pick. The “shut it down for draft stock” option just doesn’t make sense.

I think that Reid and Jackson are an interesting matchup and I worry that Jackson can hold his own against Reid. Reid is talented, but Jackson surprised me with his size, strength and foot speed. He will not be easy pickings for Reid. What would be a good or better matchup would be if we could get KJ around the short corner. A guy several inches smaller than him and one of their key players (either Hoover or Magee, both 6’4). KJ doesn’t have to have a great post move, but just needs to kind of get into the middle and go up, or turn and face and use the short corner as an attacking point. Put EJ at the FT line and Travis on the other short corner and Wofford has a major mismatch problem with UK having rebounders ready. PJ likely won’t play, but if he did I think he’d feast in this matchup. Wofford’s 4 is tall, but really kind of appeared to have poor footwork and heavy feet. He could still be exploitable by EJ and Richards if they are up to it.

No offense, but you do realize that you only provided your opinion with absolutely no corroborating "facts"? I appreciate the positivity, though, and hope you're right.

Things are blown out of proportion. They are nearly never as bad as they seem or as positive.

Outlook next week is simple: How does he feel? If he feels good, he plays. Cal and staff are in wait and see mode.

I understand most people's frustrations with Cal.. but what can he do? PJ isn't ruled out indefinitely so he can't say that. PJ likely isn't playing tomorrow but he can't say that and let Wofford game plan.

My friend, in a situation like this, the only "facts" are whether or not he's on the court at game time. I wish I could provide screenshots of a notarized statement from PJ but alas...

I've been on pins and needles like everyone else when I heard the news and started to bug the people who might have answers.

They always give the real info to the financial planners and boosters. The problem is there are so few boosters for UK basketball.

Agreed on all fronts.

Plan is to attack them on the block - Wofford will try to protect Jackson as they are very limited in depth. We all know what the NCAA officials constitute as a foul these days...

Staff feels very comfortable with Reid on the block and passing out of inevitable double teams.

Yea, we need to attack Jackson. If he is out then they will be significantly hindered, especially with rebounding. IMO, I think UK needs to attack with height and with Hagans and Quickley they need to get into the lane and get into the chest of Jackson to draw fouls against him.

Another thing is that I think UK needs to push up the floor every single chance they get. Speed up Wofford, who has a short bench, and make them chase UK in transition. When teams chase they will often foul more. Get any of their guys into foul trouble and it will be a much tougher day for them.

I think it will be interesting to see if Reid can consistently beat Jackson one on one. If he can and does then we will have a pretty good afternoon because, as you said, they will double and we will have more open looks. However, if he cannot then UK will struggle more on the offensive end, and if Wofford is hitting shots then UK will be in some hot water.

WOW a great first post OP. Such overreaction by some . I have no worries about PJ coming back as long as we get by Wafford .

PJ confirmed out. Conspiracy theories have been squashed. Cast will come off soon and if it feels good he’ll play next weekend (if we beat Wofford).

If you are truly getting inside information that is factual, what exactly is the issue with PJ's foot?
Once I heard Cal say it was a mild sprain
Then I heard it was a toe issue
Then it was the ankle.

Why I am confused is if a sprain, wouldn't whirlpool treatments, heat massage, around the clock be what he would do for a mild sprain?
A cast? Something is not kosher.
One more thing. Before the game, PJ was interviewed and said his pain was a "10" out of a 10. If so, would he be able to jump around like he did during the game, smiling like he was? Wouldn't the team doctor want him a little more still than that?
Really would like to hear what you have to say. Not trying to be a smartass by no means. I like this kids game. We need him.
But the optics seem much different than what people are seeing.

Dude you’re gonna get a bunch with this account I just know it.

Not interested in validation. I'm a die hard UK fan who gets excited when I get access to the program that others don't.

I know by your post history that you're plugged into the Memphis scene - private message me and I'll share a story with you about Skal that you can corroborate.

Let's ride Travis' all the way to the FF. He is a matchup problem for every team in our region. We all know Reid is bothered by athletic guys with height advantages. Houston/Iowa State/UNC/Auburn/Kansas have no answer.

Just need EJ/Nick to provide physicality and a combined 12 pts, 12 rebs...

T. Waters played yesterday. Either I read that wrong or that’s a bad example. In car so could have missed something.

I feel like PJ either is like most people and doesn’t understand how 1-10 scales work (like when men rate girls. Would bang= 10, wouldn’t hit= 5, ugly= 1) or He was messing with the reporter.

10- writhing in agony, death imminent. Ex. Hit by semi truck, riddled with bullets

9- needs immediate medical attention, emergency surgery. Ex- mauled by a large animal, shanked repeatedly in the stomach

8- call an ambulance! Ex- femur snapped in half, serious burns

7- trip to the ER. Ex- broken arm/ankle

6- requires medical attention. Ex- serious cut requiring stitches, moderate burns

5- go get x-rays, have a nurse look at it. Ex- bad ankle sprain, minor burns

4- probably call it a day, ice and Advil- rolled ankle, jammed thumb

3- run some dirt on it, get back out there. Ex- elbow/knee contusion, small/medium cut requiring bandage

2- Walk it off. Ex- fell awkwardly, took a hit that will leave a bruise

1- shrug it off. Ex- hard foul
