Sounds like someone needs to introduce PJ to Jeff Shepard.
But to each his own
The days of Keith Bogans and Jeff Sheppard are long since gone. The kids nowadays have way more people in their ears and the $ has gone over the edge. The above mentioned may look at playing differently now, times have changed my friend.

Teams have been watching PJ for 2 seasons now. Him sitting out to protect his draft status is so absurd it doesn't need addressing. Do some of you people think things out before you say outlandish things? He has an injury. UK doesn't owe you a medical report. He's not playing. Once he's able to be back in there we will be some of the first people outside of those close to the situation to know.

with all that has happened and all that has been said. IF we would lose tomorrow I would not want to be Cal this web site will blow up bad. Not that it is anybody's fault but the way I read all this to many people feel they are not getting the truth

See that’s exactly what I’m talking about. And I type that with a smile. It’s like JV all over again. Maybe UK needs to put a podiatrist on the coaching staff.
I just tend to hedge my bets when a guy NO ONE has ever heard of comes on a message board and acts like he knows more than anyone else

In your rush to virtue signal you are leaving out he was cleared by doctors mid year, Cal voiced frustration and made cryptic comments as did others around the program around that time, and then was actually injured again later in the year and held out.

Sssshhhhhhh. VAnDo wAsNt sItTiNg oUt hE wAs hUrt I SaW iT.

I'm sorry I'm not buying what the op is saying. We have had trolls on here before and what he is saying most of us have figured out in the last 3-4 days anyways. If I am proven wrong this is will admit it.

I'm still just setting here trying to figure out HOW he got injured. I've already succumbed to the fact he's out tomorrow, but for the life of me can't figure out what happened.

Because when you have to sit out of something as important as an NCAA tournament, and your leg goes in a hard cast with Xrays showing negatives across the board, you clearly play against UT with no problems whatsoever.

This board ain’t gonna make it.

No one is calling anyone anything.
If you or anyone else don't like that some are puzzled by all this, then I don't know what to tell you.

The OP stated he had facts. OK. If you read them, it sure sounds like PJ is possibly being held back for draft purposes to some degree.
Maybe it is harsh for some too except, but many of us old guys are used to seeing players suit up and go with "mild" sprains as Coach Cal has called it.
Is it worse than a mild sprain? That is what many of us are wondering.
I have been asked by countless people today about his interview last night saying his pain was a 10 and then was seen jumping around smiling during the game.
I took it as he was wanting to play, maybe going to get back soon, like this weekend with seeing his actions. But not everyone, including many sportscasters who saw the same thing and are like, "wow" is he in pain?

Sorry if you can't understand fans like me do not think we should have to get the "facts' from some online board and question things that do not add up.

Yes, I do question players today and their ability to fight thru adversity. It is not only in sports snowflake, but in real life as well.
Excellent post and I have to say that Jeff Shep immediately came to mind when word started circulating late Thursday night that PJ probably wouldn't play on Sat.
Maybe PJ's injury is different in some way plus, we know PJ's draft status is considerably brighter than Jeff's was. But, playing on a high ankle sprain is an incredibly hard thing to do.
I've had them and they are one of the most painful injuries possible, short of a broken bone.
If PJ has a torn ligament, it may be just as painful or even worse, I don't know. Just seems there is a lot of mystery surrounding a "mild sprain".

I know that on Wednesday, Cal said PJ was in a hard cast for precautionary reasons. Expected him to play this weekend. All x-rays and MRI were negative. Foot sprain.

Thursday night, PJ did not play. Said pain was 10/10. He stood on the sidelines and cheered. He appeared alert and not in pain. Cal said the cast might come off on Friday and he might play Sat. If not, cast would come off on Tue or Wed.

Today, reports that PJ will not play and is still in a cast.

It seems like we get bad news, then news that it's not that bad. Then the can gets kicked down the road.

Maybe we find out later this week. Maybe we never find out.

I’m not “virtue signaling”

I’m pointing out the idiocy of the fans who claimed Vanderbilt sat out of the tournament to protect his draft stock by mentioning he didn’t play in a game for 365 days.

Those same dolts are insinuating the same with PJ. That’s a strong accusation to make against someone’s character without a shred of evidence to back it up.

I honestly don’t believe cal is protecting his stock. He’s already set. He can only move up higher. His injury is not going to cause him to miss any nba games

The dubious reaction to JV at the end of the year was born out of the mid year comments by Cal and others around him sitting out despite being cleared. It was not contrived idiocy. There is also a lot of frustration from reasonable fans about how injuries are poorly communicated overall.

The matt jones crew was even voicing frustation this morning on their show.

The OP certainly knows one thing - you are far more likely to have “insider info” accepted as such, IF it has a positive spin.
Lol!
Some truth here, but overstating pop’s presence in this. PJ’s pain and likely effectiveness w that pain is being evaluated constantly. There really isn’t a draft component to this.

The family his dad can tell a grown man what to do? That is what PJ is now, grown.

I don't think the "protecting their draft stock" works.

Vanderbilt's team had him sit. Do we think NBA teams aren't doing their due dilligence? Kid's not playing--we know you stopped playing around this time. We're going to need x-rays, doctor notes from this time. Oh you don't want to share those, interesting--we'll slide you down our draft board.

Lol this was an easy call as to what was going on and people will still back the player above all, even when it’s clearly hurting the team they support.

No thanks.

Because doing the opposite is an indictment on the entire brand that’s been built here. Can’t have that
