How can you guard talented players who walk as much as Duke? On the last 3, he caught the ball, took two steps to his left and then shot the ball - Okafor is a walking machine.
It's sickening.
It's sickening.

The constant bitching about officiating is more irritating than the actual officiating.

agree with everything you say here...couple more comments...Originally posted by flash10:
I love basketball. Played it through a year of college and have coached all levels of both girls and boys through high school varsity. I can barely watch any game nowadays because of the officiating.
By my estimates:
90% of jump stops now are walks. You are supposed to jump, THEN gain control of the ball. Not gain control and then jump.
95% of the time when they anchor the ball on their hips they walk.
80% of spin moves are a walk. If you aren't still dribbling into the spin move, 100% of the spin moves are a walk.
Probably 40-50% of the time when they just catch the ball out front and then square up they walk.
If you go by the actual game rules, there would probably be anywhere from 5-10 walks every possession that isn't a fast break...maybe more.
And that doesn't even begin to get into the fouling and flopping.
I'm guessing English is your 2nd language? On the contrary, the ended very nicely for your kind today.

Why are you assuming they are incompetent? What you said followed to a conclusion is that the officiating is exactly what the NCAA wants.Originally posted by Mashburned:
I don't get it, but I've never been a ref. To me, traveling is one of the easiest calls to see and make. Very clear. There can be no misinterpretation, or bias.
Is it just me or has officiating gotten much worse as the tournament goes on? I'm not really surprised an organization like the NCAA can't find competent refs for the biggest games of the year.
