We’re stuck with him unfortunately. He’s killing everything that this program stands for and we're well on our way back to mediocrity.
It's not even that UK isn't what they should be it's that Cal isn't what he used to be, Cal used to be able to get his players to play way beyond their ability and years ago we would've been ready for this game **** just ain't the same

Don’t ever

Don’t ever take up for Cal for his offensive philosophy. He is a terrible in-game coach and he just showed you 40 minutes of proof. We just got beat by a 3-4 team. Please wake up.
I'm awake that loss was brutal and never would've happened a few years ago, Cal used to be able to get his players to play above their talent level now he barely gets 50%....hate to say it but time for a new coach

Actually, we did lose a very similar game at ND several years ago. We are 0-3 against them since 2015

My father and I used to be so excited when a UK game was on and our schedule always revolved around it like most fans. Cal has poisoned that excitement for so many reasons. Do I take it personal, I sure do because we have the best fan base in America and our coach has found a way to ruin the excitement for the past 5 years. Unlike Tubby, he keeps bringing in top recruits and transfers so having good players is not an excuse. How poorly he has coached these players is astonishing to me. I could name multiple players but let’s just look at Jonny Juzang. A no name player for Kentucky that is now the face of college basketball. ESPN states Juzang and UCLA taking on….Saturday night. I think Cal was once a good in game coach but he arrogantly refuses to make adjustments for today’s basketball. The game is now based around the 3 line. He still refuses to play an offense that is adjusted to so many good shooters he brought in this year. You might say, they don’t make enough, I say they have already proved to be great 3 point shooters that Cal doesn’t adjust to.

But I'd say 2014was the last time cal got the most out of his players that tourney run after the season that team had was legendary hasn't been anywhere near the same since

Cal said this at Madness in 2018. To me he sounded burned out.

But let me say this: It may feel like yesterday, but one look at me and you can tell what it's done to me. (LOOK UP AT SCREEN AT PICTURE OF CAL AND ELLEN). You people have beat me up. For some reason, it hasn't affected Ellen. But I've aged in dog years!

Now it is 2021. How much more burned out is he?

This often-repeated claim that Kentucky has been in steep decline in recent years is absolute nonsense. Let's look at the facts:

2017 - A last second shot from the Final Four. Many would argue that game was for the Championship, and Kentucky played it with a horrible and biased official actively working against them.

2018 - A bad game at a bad time ended the year after the Cats made the Sweet 16 (some programs celebrate those, but I agree Kentucky shouldn't.)

2019 - An overtime loss away from the Final Four. A frustrating game against a team that happened to get red hot at the right time, crushing Kansas and UNC-Cheats before the Kentucky game. One chance for a free throw away. It happens in college basketball.

2020 - A team that won the SEC outright by three full games and was ranked 8th in both polls didn't get to make a tourney run because of COVID.

2021 - A disastrous year in one of the most unique and atypical years in NCAA history.

So, that's Kentucky's recent past: Two teams that came a bounce of the ball from the Final Four, another conference champion that didn't get a chance to make a patented Calipari run in five years. That's not a program that has fallen off the cliff.
Good points except 2019. Auburn lost its star to injury before that E8 game. Even so, UK had the ball last in a tie game but couldn’t come up with the winning play.

Wasn’t a bad bounce at all. Was actually an all-systems failure.

UK would have been up 10+ in the first half if Wheeler wasn't playing. He was awful every time he touched the ball.
