I expect 2 and hope for 3. Winning 4 or more would be a stellar year given where we are as a program right now.
Next year, 9-3, beat 1 of the Big 3, mid-tier bowl.
2021, 11-2, lose the Big 10 Championship game, NYD Bowl..
2022, 12-1, lose the final of the CFP.
I really don’t believe you can say that Syracuse and temple should be wins. Temple has been worlds better than us in recent years and Syracuse won 5 games last year. Ideally yes we should beat those types of teams however we have fallen so far that almost no game is guaranteed. It won’t be until we get a massive influx of talent that arrives that we will be in any position to say any game “should be” a win.Monmouth, Syracuse, Temple - should be wins.
It's reasonable to expect one of Illinois / Purdue, if not both. One gets us to 4 wins, both gets us to 5.
That means snatching one from Indiana / Nebraska / Maryland to get 5 or 6.
I’ll take an ounce of whatever it is you’re smoking! LolI'll stand by my 3 year prediction:

You’re barking up the wrong tree with me on that one. I’m one of the very few people on this board that will publicly declare that bringing back Greg was a bad decision, and no before you ask, it’s not about the money, I could care less how much we pay our coachBut... but... but we have GREG!!
Pump the brakes.Monmouth, Syracuse, Temple - should be wins.

This board is limitless in it's absurdity.
2019: Nobody can win with these players. Ash’s recruiting has been terrible. Not the OC/assistants fault.
2020: Now that we have a different set of defensive coaches (note - OC still hasn't been hired) we are going bowling!!
Ummmm dont we have mostly the same players as last years #129 ranked offense?
Are all these True Freshman going to be the difference makers?
Gonna take a little time guysRemember this is as bad as when Schiano came to Rutgers the first time or worst
YOU ARE CORRECT.As a forecast. MINE WAS AN EXPECTATIONThis is very unrealistic forecast from an RU fan expectation standpoint.
2020 is a grace year for Greg, as he restructures the roster and starts to bring in new players. 2021 is also likely to be a rebuilding year.
What can accelerate team success is if we can bring in a playmaker at QB. But we don’t have that in this class yet. Can we get one next recruiting season?
Not even close.Remember this is as bad as when Schiano came to Rutgers the first time or worst
I wouldn’t have even minded the move away from block punts if we started to setup a return and no reason not to block FG/XOBlocked Field Goals and/or punts.
Sarcasm?

Seems a bit optimistic!Nope.
Hey, it's Signing Day. I think we beat UM and PSU next year.
So Rutgers won 3 games in 2000 before Greg took over, we were a combined 9-24 overall in the 3 seasons prior to Greg taking over. Fast forward to today, we were 7-29 combined in our last 3 seasons.... so to answer your question just using simple ins and losses, yes we are every bit as bad right now as were were in 2001. Right now we are the bottom of the barrel in the P5. We are the team that every other program in the country see’s on their schedule and thinks “that’s a win”.Not even close.
Lol blind faith, talk to me in 4 years when our fans are losing their minds bc their lord and savior Greg hasn’t turned the program around and he was the last hope and what can we do now that saint Greg has failed...Clueless

Clueless is putting all your eggs into the basket of a coach who has done nothing at all to improve his resume in the last 7 years. Once he left OSU their defense got better. Lol
I am hoping for 3. I don't see it now. The OC and QB are all important here. We have some talent on this team, but we need a QB that can be at least average.I am hoping for FOUR wins ...but that may still be a year away in year 2
TE was a strength. It just was not utilized properly after the first 2 games. Allmo blocked well, and got open. Our QBs rarely looked his way. They usually only threw to their first readThe last four years, we have had such incomplete teams, strength and depth in certain positions groups little to no depth in other positions groups. We had a good TEs 2016-18 but nothing, 2019. QB have been a cluster**** for 4 years, leading to underdeveloped WRs for 4 years. DBs had talent 2016-17, not so much last 2 years but there are pieces being undercoached, where as LBs not so good 2016-17 have been getting much stronger and deeper over the last 2 years. DL and OL have have been patchwork and inconsistant over 4 years. RB have never complained between grad transfers and recruiting considering our OL. I'm not so down on the WRs after the last 8 games in 2019 with Washington, Melton and even Dremel looked in that last game, just need the right WR coach. Kicking has been solid for the most part of 4 years. Schiano can have a quick turn around in 2020 if he fixes the position groups like OL, DL, TE, and QB most importantly and the easy start to the schedule.
I really hope you are right but I’m not convinced. Tbh Greg has done nothing since leaving us that gives me any faith in him, he completely bombed in Tampa, bounced around as an analyst for a while then took a job at osu where the defense actually got better once he left. Meanwhile we have fans who are acting like just by hiring him back we are back to 06’ level. My take on this is that I was never a fan of Greg coming back for many of these reasons. I am not sure how much he has really improved as a HC. And I thought he had peaked his first time here at Rutgers. But then, C Ash happened and the last two years put us into a place where we were not going to attract a big time P5 HC. We also needed to right the ship.
And this is where Greg's strength is. He will find a way to get what he wants and that is for the football program to be on solid ground. He will get Rutgers on board with him and if you try to go against him, he will either find a way around you or push past.
I don't know if Greg can get this program into a championship game but I do feel he can get us to respectability very fast and back to bowl games. I would be very surprised if 3 years in, we are still struggling for 4-5 wins.
I also never saw him as a great recruiter. He was pretty good and had been getting better. But watching him now, I am seeing a man who may bring his level of recruiting to the next level. I always heard that U Meyer was a great recruiter. It wasn't just the OSU or Florida doing the selling. I see that Greg seems to have learned a lot from working for him. It is still a wait and see but I like what I see so far.
I expect to win all of the wins.- Which of the guys that we signed so far will contribute right away?
- Who starts the season at QB?
- How many wins do you expect to win?

I need to see Greg land multiple 4* recruits consistently to believe in him as a recruiter. This idea that we can take under the radar 3* kids and compete with PSU, OSU and Michigan is total nonsense.
