The H1N1 Swine Flu was globally estimated to have inflicted 700 million to 1.4 Billion people. The United States alone had 60 million inflicted and 12,500 deaths. You may want to retract your statements because you’re looking dumb
100 deaths in one day today - and you're still denying it’s danger

The coronavirus death toll in Spain has jumped by 514 in a single day, as the situation in the country quickly worsens.

Official figures show that 2,696 people have now died in the country and close to 40,000 are infected.

About 5,400 health care workers are among those confirmed cases.

Spain is the worst affected country in Europe after Italy, which has recorded more than 6,000 deaths so far.

All this posting about the seriousness of this crisis - are you going to put Trump down for trying to push for decisions against healthcare experts opinions?

Healthcare experts aren't economy experts.
Look - I get that the economy is important, and I am well aware of my hippie dippy bias - but **** the economy right now! 30-40 year olds on ventilators in Washington, NY, and Cali. The numbers are spreading like wildfire. This thing could mutate like the flu and it be a yearly problem! We could have secondary infections (we don’t even know how long immunity lasts). Have you ever seen anything like this in your life!!??!! NBA shut down, March Madness cancelled, Governors issuing shutdowns?

My god, what has to occur before you guys realize that we need to think of NOTHING but getting this dealt with?

No, I have not seen anything like it in my lifetime. Looking only at this virus could be much more deadly than the virus itself.

We **** the economy too badly, what do you think happens in 6 months when the curve does flatten out? What do you think happens to revenues, revenues that supply social services that will be heavily needed in those months.

We **** it too badly, the human toll could be greater than the virus.

Conservative estimates without extreme social distancing measures were 40-50% of the US population getting infected. Let’s say there is a .5% mortality rate -
Do the math

Will those that keep lying on this board that Trump isn't pushing for "re-opening the economy" instead of listening to the medical professionals first read this post above? Contrast that to what Cuomo said this morning. Total opposite messaging. But we know some will deny and just attack me. Go ahead. I don't care but hopefully others with a brain will understand the direction from Trump is dangerous and wrong.

smh

"We have to go back to work much sooner than people thought," he said.
Trump again compared coronavirus to the flu and auto accidents, despite warnings from his health advisers that such analogies make little sense.
"We lose thousands and thousands of people to the flu. We don't turn the country off," he said, adding: "We lose much more than that to automobile accidents."
Last week, Dr. Anthony Fauci said comparing coronavirus to auto accidents was a "false equivalency" and said it was important to "face the fact" that coronavirus is more lethal than the flu.

It might get to that point, honestly, esp in the cities
That is true. We just don't know right now but to allow the public go back too early will be the same mistake Hong Kong is dealing with.

Leadership should speak in an honest manner of worst possible scenario while working on improving it from there. But that hasn't been done since day 1 out of Trump. Does zero good both for the society, medical environment and the economy just to blab crap.
