1) Are ALL games now going to be televised including OOC games? 2) What times are these games going to start? I have heard that the old JP spot may now start games at 11:00 am (WAY too early to attend a game) 3) Can teams opt out of TV games? Exp.--- TV wants the Jackson St game to start at 11:00 am. NOT a good way to generate crowd enthusiasm for the first home game w/ a new coach. 4) When will the times be decided and does CBS still get first pick, then ESPN, ESPN2, etc. on down the line?????

1. Best I can tell all SEC vs SEC games will be on TV. Out of conference, depends on if they want to pick it up. So I am guessing MTSU will not be on TV.
2. I would guess 11:00am games will happen now, as ESPN has games on that time now. It is only a 30 minute difference. If you could make JP/LF you can make that.
3a. I am guessing no choice on SEC conference game times. They gave us $2 billion dollars. If you are the 11 am game you suck it up. Again, only 30 minutes earlier.
3b - Out of conference, I am sure it is your choice, but we are not in the position to turn down the free publicity and $200K-$400K for an extra TV appearance. The only teams that turn down games are your really programs(LSU, Bama, UF, Texas) on Thursday nights. Everyone else plays on TV when they can. Plus, it is the coach's first game, you want all the coverage there you can get, so the highlights get shown on sportscenter. The fans will come either way.
4 - I am guessing same deal as before - CBS gets some first picks, ESPN/ABC the others. ESPN, ESPN2 picks are really a mute point.

Also, the games don't have to be show on ESPN, they mearly bought the rights to them. They can option them off to FSN, etc. ESPN also counts broadcasting as ESPNU, ESPN360, ESPN PPV.

I would think JSU might be on TV, being Mullen's first game(national championships, tebow, first head coaching gig, trying out spread), our first game without Croom is vs. a historically black school, and there are not many big games that day. Sounds like an 11 am game, but I am hoping for 6pm

we are not moving to the big 10 early game spots on espn and espn2. you can still watch northwestern v purdue at its regularly scheduled time.

the difference is going to be that instead of watching JP/Raycom, you'll now be watching ESPN Regional Television. I would bet that most of the networks that carried the JP games will carry the ESPNRT games. just a different syndication name. also, the times for these games have been moved up, but not to 11:00. someone posted a link that said the games will start at about 11:15, in order to be finished before the 2:30 CBS game.

ESPN has the rights to every SEC home game, and i think somewhere it was said that EVERY SEC home game would be available, at the least, on PPV or espn360. i would think that MSU v. JSU is a prime candidate for a 6pm start on ESPNU and ESPN360.

especially on this board, but when your avatar says "I judge you when you use bad grammar" and the title of your post is "I love MUTE points" I have to do this...

It's "moot" not "mute"...however, if you were ever a fan of the show Friends, you could get by saying it was a "moo point"...like a cow's opinion. It doesn't matter.

Simply wanted to point the fact that you were using the wrong word. It should be a moot and not mute.

Edit: I now realize that I originally replied to the wrong thread. Sorry for busting balls.

I guess I won't watch MSU games. I'm either at the game or listening on the radio because I'm working most of the time anyway so it's no big deal to me.

I would love to pay less, but I have 6 tv's in my house and that would require a lot of ugly *** boxes. I just don't see putting a satellitte box in my kitchen or on my back porch, no room for it. Besides my wife or neighborhood association would not like a satellite in my front yard or on the roof. Comcast has me by the balls... $140 a month for every channel...

seems like we've done this before.

I'm just going to have to decide if it's worth it to drop satellite and go back to cable. I just don't know if I can do it.

Good think I had a daughter instead of a son....

Comcast sticks it to you unless your DS and "jew" them down...

I guess we will know after this first year with ESPN which channel gets our games most the time, but I think it will be mainley CSS. Hopefully it will become avilable on satellite for non comcast folks.
