Not sure what started all of that, but it's most likely a by-product from the Bill Walton tie-dye western pot-smoking weed loving schtick that he uses successfully and with ESPN's endorsement to carry on during game action. I guess I don't mind too much because he never does a Kentucky game, but tonight reminded me of that and at one point of a few, they panned and stayed on Vandy coach Stackhouse while EJ was shooting--and thankfully--making his first free throw. Now that's a problem, when you start to miss game action. A stupid attempt to try to entertain beyond what the game brings as entertainment itself.
By and large, I like the announcers tonight, but really enjoy the insights of Dan Dakich and the insight and humor of Andy Kennedy--both are superb, and both are much better than Dick Vitale, who goes way beyond just being a game analyst. Bilas calling almost every Duke game is way too obvious that he prefers that and at times I think gives them an unfair advantage on what he says during reviews. Despite his veiled attempts to stay neutral, he is biased for Duke and should be calling different games. But, thanks to ESPN, we get to see great basketball, so, "Who's complaining?"
How is Missouri up four on LSU right now? Crazy game...
