I’m getting flashbacks of last years pre-game posts! MC has one of the best defenses in the State and D-Coordinator, they be ready. 7 of our starters from last years defense are back, they’ve seen ESL offense before, they’ll be ready. I know ESL has an amazing offense and they will score Saturday, but its gonna be a dogfight, they’re going to get hit like they’ve never have so far this year.

That's why they play the game. This offense is wayyyyyy different from last year. You got the Sophomore qb (Macon) who has rushed for over a 1,000 yards & thrown for over a 1,000. The two running backs have combined for over 2,000 yards rushing. So it's a balanced attack. I just hope that the refs let the kid's play. Let the game be decided on the field. The defense has looked really good the last two weeks. Trust and believe. The 618 is going to invade the 773. Saturday can not get here any faster.

“I really wanna play them,”Flyer RB Witherspoon said of the Boys in Brown. “That’s what I was looking forward to. I wanna play them more than I wanna go to (the state championship).”

Added QB Macon, “We never want to feel that pain again. Last year, that was a hurtful loss. We’re looking forward to next week.”

Is the QB just speaking on behalf of his teammates? He wasn't there. lol

That Qb was 11/11 yesterday and throws beautifully. Very impressed with his passing and development this year.

i said it last year, and I’ll say it again... East St.Louis is not undefeated nor invincible. They lost to a 9-2 King and beat a mediocre Trinity Catholic, Edwardsville and Belleville West are competitive during in conference play, but the rest are simply teams that Sunkett runs the score up on every year to pad stats (leaving starters in when up by 30, and throwing the ball over twenty times during the 4th quarter isn’t classy). They walked into the Colosseum on Gately last year averaging over 40 points per game, so considering you predict a blowout yet once again, I don’t want to hear anything about refs this year...

So sivada2001. Nobody is predicting a blow out. We just want the game to be called fair. It's just bad that the fans of East St. Louis was told last year while entering the stadium. You know they're not going to let you all win. Just watch for the blatant calls. Yeah they missed three extra points. But it was at least two touchdowns called back. But that was last year. This team is different from last year. But what makes you think they are padding stats. The starters are out the game at half-time if the mercy rule is in effect. For you to be from Chicago. You know a lot about what's going on. Just know they'll be ready to play.

I have to agree with flyer99 on the bad calls. Also starters where out at half. I just want the ref's to call a fair game and let the best team win. If they call a fair game and whomever wins no complaints from me. Last year we were without our starting QB who was lost before playoff started. By the way Trinity is NOT mediocre will put them up against some of the teams in ccl they would win half if not most

It's bothersome that people get on these blogs and just say whatever without any real information. Those GAUDY offensive numbers you see are with starts not even playing second half of games. You need not look any further for evidence of that that this past weekend at Glenbard East. It's cool to be a fan and make cases for your team, but damn at least go and actually watch somebody else before spewing nonsense.

Trinity, King, Washington, EVILLE, West ... and conference games. No where close to mediocre. Have any of those teams play MC’s schedule and they would have success.

You forgot about the #1 team in Ohio. ESL played them too. Just to add contrast or more content to your point.

We don’t want to be classy. We’re not a catholic school.

All gas no brakes
east St. Louis coaching staff tried to have security remove me from the east end zone for yelling “all brakes! No gas...!” Last year- true story! But I’ll be back... I love this time of the year.

So let me get this straight. Some fans in the tailgate were being fans and giving you the business before the game. So instead of giving it back to them, you stand behind a fence and heckle the kids. Are you sure that's all you said? I seem to remember differently. Either way, it's great that you're such a supporter of your school, but don't get behind a keyboard and talk about being classy, until you practice it. Looking forward to the kids from Mt. Carmel and ESTL putting on a great show for the state to see.
