Before Eugene O fouled out in Oregon's loss to WSU, announcer stated he is one of best D1 major college players to never play in NCAA tourney. Perhaps he should have redshirted, remained at RU and made deep run in NCAA tourney as B10 champs.......

Are you saying Oregon is not going to make tournament?

They may be in trouble. Lost at home to a bad Washington State team. They are now in 6th place (4-3) in the PAC-12 and 9-4 overall. Missed a lot of games as the teams ahead of them are 7-5. They were 46 in NET before yesterday's games.

Not a bigger fan of Eugene while he was here. Thought we were doomed when he left.

having said all that.....Eugene is not a fit here. We are a better team without him.
Was a huge EO fan, as he was simply a warrior and played bigger than his size. With better pieces around him, I'm not so sure we're not better with him. His defense and rebounding would help, especially when Myles isn't on the court, and with more offensive threats than when he was here, perhaps he would've become more efficient on offense. But he left so who cares, lol...

Chemistry is a concern. I got the sense he didn’t complete mesh with the rest of the team.

Towards the end of his last year the ball stuck in his hands way too much. I fear it would have been an issue.

myles Johnson has allowed us to lose Eugene and not miss a beat.

BTW...I am claiming (I am calling it) that I was the biggest Eugene fan when he was here. You are behind me #s. Sorry

He played well last night, had 21 pts. Rest of team looked rusty from Covid time off.

He was just a physical wreck his last year and it was hard to watch, honestly. Amazing that he was playing and almost that we allowed him to play like that. I looked at him as damaged goods and saw his knee as a ticking time bomb and a guy that we would never be able to count on to play a full season.

As a freshman he actually impressed me with his passing and athleticism but at that time he had not developed any offensive game. His post move development by sophomore year was pretty remarkable and since he developed so quickly I always viewed his game as more of a work in progress and him as guy just learning to play rather than him being a ball hog. He had incredible footwork.

His exit was truly bizarre because he was one of the most respected warrior types we've had. He flushed that down the toilet.

Eugene made his decision to leave. He averaged over 14 ppg two years ago for us and I believe was over 7 rpg. His numbers probably would have been better if he didn't hurt his knee twice that season. However our chemistry I believe is much better without him. He started this season with a huge bang averaging over 20 ppg and was hitting well on threes. Last night he did well with 21 points. For the season he is down to 16 ppg but only 4 rpg and is having I think about 4 turnovers a game. His 3 point shooting % was down to 31 % before last night's game. I wish him luck as I hold nothing against him. He made his decision. Oregon had one guy hurt his ankle last night and never returned. I think he was their top scorer on this season so far. He was in a lot of pain.

The redshirt year helped him immensely. It's too bad it couldn't be worked out here but I thought it was pretty clear we'd be better with Yeboah last year. IF we had Eugene this year and IF he accepted a smaller role then we'd be better but I don't think that was ever a possibility.

True, but WSU is no slouch. They're 12-7 right now even though they're 115 and KenPom.

He was a ball stopper. There is no way he fits in with this team (last year or this year).

Oregon was their first win against a team rated in the top 115
I realize that, but the other poster acted as if WSU was like U of W and they're not. Personally, I think the entire PAC 12 is very weak as a conference.

They are in 10th place in what is universally considered a weak P5 conference. Their other three PAC-12 wins are against Oregon State, Cal, and Washington. This is not a good home loss for anyone with NCAA aspirations.

Oregon's NET dropped to #58 with the loss. Woof.

Isn't Eugene playing the 3 at Oregon? The few game I saw him this year he seems to be playing more on the perimeter.

Carino says we’d be a top ten team with Eugene..I tend to agree. I do remember him hitting perimeter shots, after spending a summer working long hours at it. With a colder Ron, EO could have played 3 at spots, with Ron working at the 4, drawing fouls and rebounding. Or EO as another big body at the 4 or even 5 at spots - with precarious foul situations..
But Eugene left for Eugene, so hope we play them in the tournament. He gets 18, but we win by 18..

We'd be a top ten team with EO if he was a team player and our guys didn't hate him. That EO doesn't exist. He would've ball hogged it and lost us our fair share of winnable games. It doesn't matter if he's a team player with oregon. He did not like our guys and probably likes those players better

Pac 12 is very weak in sports in general.
Speaking of which, why is CBS showing 3-13 Washington at 9-4 Oregon? First glimpse of EO and he's playing well, but why the hell is this game on at all? I thought they had flexibility in games they showed.

Yeboah was not nearly as selfish as Eugene. In fact, I thought he was a little too I selfish. If Eugene could play as unselfishly as Yeboah, this team could be a final four team with him, since a physical, rebounding 4 is a need. However, it’s not in his makeup, and he’s gone, so I’m happy enjoying the best team we’ve had in 30 years.
