I guess my point is, IF that's what's actually going on then HOW does it benefit Iowa that she's still with the team? If whatever she did was that egregious to cut bait , then just move on at semester and leave it up to her to find a new home. I see ZERO benefit in having a player who you evidently don't want on your team, who evidently doesn't want to be part of the team, (by whatever culture issue she broke) and then leaving her sit in on meeting, practice, whatever. If its a cancer, then cut it out and move on.
It doesn't really benefit Iowa, other than possibly avoiding some of the potential fallout from negative publicity. If the medical redshirt is the driving factor here, then she would likely need to remain with the team in order to pull it off.

Could be just collecting her “NIL, other benefits” until final whistle blows this year and then leaves, heading to new team.

According to what I could find, Addy Brown has not played since January 4th due to her back injury and I have no idea when she is scheduled to resume. Must be one of those day to day deals.

True, BUT people actually saw Brown get hurt, and as such an integral part of that 1-2 punch with Crooks I'm certain she'd come back as soon as she's able. They're not even close to the same team without her....

So, since you or anyone else for that matter never actually saw Emely get injured in a game, are you saying somebody is lying? Were you at any practices since sometimes accidents happen there?

Yeah. These 2 situations are apples and oranges. The last 2 on court appearances by Emely were pretty disastrous and the exasperation from the coaches was visible for all to see. Add on the suspension / non suspension afterwards and all of the evidence points to anything other than an injury situation.

I'm normally on this side until I read reports she's flying with the team and riding the bike around. Normally injured athletes stick around for care from the athletic trainers.

It would be difficult to stick around at home for care from the women's basketball trainers if the women's basketball trainers are traveling with the team

Fwiw, riding a bicycle is low impact therapy for a variety of chronic back issues. Riding in a plane and riding a beach cruiser don't tell you anything if you are assessing someone's current physical ability.

Fwiw if someone is injured too much to play they would never be recommended to fly cross country and sleep in strange beds. You don't have to stay in a Holiday inn Express to know that.

You don't think they have access to trainers you moran?

You think the trainers are staying in Iowa City when the team is on the road?

Athletes travel with teams on a regular basis. Any therapy they have can be done anywhere and with traveling they have access to their regular trainers.

I am not speculating on what is going on with Emily, just stating your reasoning was the opposite of reality. By your reasoning Caitlin should not have been traveling with the Fever last year.

You've got zero skin in the matter, just STFU.
Just keeping tilting at those windmills there Don. Its easy to tell by the anger in your posts that your embarrassed to be one of the duped that's paying into this nonsense, but your too far in to admit that you've been taken. Your coin makes ZERO difference in the big picture. Even you must know that by now......

Wrong again as usual, however the fact you do absolutely nothing to support the program and feel the need to complain about the team only shows how shallow and petty you are in addition to being a cheap dumb a-s.

Athletes stay back all the time for treatment with true debilitating injuries. CC is a junk example since she wasn't day to day and it wasn't a back injury so she could get treatment and not aggravated her back traveling and sleeping in strange beds. A person with a true low back injury that keeps someone out for the whole season isn't going to be prescribed travel. she has doctors and trainers in Iowa City that don't travel with the team.

Take the loss Moran.

Taylor McCabe flew across the country with the team for the UCLA/USC games.

I'm pretty darn sure she is too injured to play, but was capable of sleeping in a bed away from home.
