I saw a picture of a girl named Emely riding a bike. Her back has been day to day since November and there are no pictures of her playing basketball in her youth. She's going to save our season.

from what I can tell she's just a woman that hangs out with the team from time to time
kinda like a team mascot
Jan needs to put a jersey on this "mascot" and get her on the floor. We desperately need her scoring at either the 2 or 3 guard position.
And collecting NIL money, I can only assume. Medical expenses add up for back injuries.
Is that the only value that Jada has brought to Iowa women's basketball the last 4 years in your opoinion?
I'm sorry but I just don't agree that a college team needs a mother hen/den mother/ recruiting hostess/ tik tok queen whatever. I don't for a second believe shes aided recruiting in any way shape or form regardless of posts here.
A key piece? She played some ggod minutes and some bad minutes in a small handful of games. Taylor Mccabe was a key piece for this team.
I'm perplexed at the secrecy surrounding Rodriquez. Even the beat reporters are seemingly reluctant to ask Jan the obvious questions: "What is Rodriquez' current status, and if she indeed is still on the team, why isn't playing - due to injury or what? Or is she taking a medical redshirt with the intention to stay in the program and return next year or will she transfer?" How about some answers!
While many don’t like the answer Jan has made it pretty clear she is not going to discuss Emely. Day to day has been her stock answer and while fans would love for Jan to give more info it seems pretty obvious she has no interest in discussing the situation.
If people pay in to swarm they deserve to know whether Jan wants to say or not
Never have I ever read so much about a player whom has played so little and would be no help at this point of the season.

While I totally agree that IF she has an injury, then were not entitled to know anymore about it. It’s best to just realize she won’t play again for Iowa. She’s probably leaving after the season. Sounds like she wants to take a medical redshirt after the season and leave.
She won’t come back and risk losing a medical redshirt. She’s done for the year.
Iowa might think she should have come back but she didn’t for whatever reason. Maybe there is a rift with the team doctors and her hence why she’s been out so long.
I don't know what the rift would be unless they wanted her to have surgery and she said no, so they won't clear her.
Agree, but why would the head coach of a major college BB program do something so lame? If ppl found out the truth it would make her look really bad. I don't see her taking the chance. She's too smart for that. Unless it's all under the guise of protecting a player.

You are clearly missing the point. Jan HAS SAID she will not say anything other than the original comment, she is day to day, there is nothing beyond that you, me or anybody else has the right to know.

My guess, and that's all this is, is that none of this has anything to do with doctors or injuries and has everything to do with everyone saving face and keeping this year of eligibility intact as she looks for her next destination. That's where all of the evidence has always pointed to anyway.

Redshirt rules need to be tightened, if you are able to take any injury and shut it down for the season.
Otherwise, just say you rolled your ankle... Even though it isn't swollen and doesn't show up in any way... "It hurts".

Well she can't really say that in actuality she's suspended for the rest of her time and is simply waiting out the season for a medical redshirt now can she, if that's what in fact is actually going on.
I guess my point is, IF that's what's actually going on then HOW does it benefit Iowa that she's still with the team? If whatever she did was that egregious to cut bait , then just move on at semester and leave it up to her to find a new home. I see ZERO benefit in having a player who you evidently don't want on your team, who evidently doesn't want to be part of the team, (by whatever culture issue she broke) and then leaving her sit in on meeting, practice, whatever. If its a cancer, then cut it out and move on.
