I don't know anything about Eastern Guilford. Any insight? Everybody and their mom knows what we do..... run the ball and play mediocre pass defense! Hopefully we're competitive.

All I know is they finished 2nd. in their conference, behind Dudley. They lost big to Dudley on Friday night. Yes, we do run the ball and play mediocre pass defense. I was surprised to see a home game for SP.

I saw EG in the pre-season. What I remember the most about them was they had a solid RB, decent size in the trenches, and a decent dual-threat QB. I also remember they were torched in the secondary a bit.

However, that was a bit of time ago and it looks like they've fixed some things. EG was rolling until they ran into Dudley last night. EG did finish 2nd but that conference is far from "Murderer's Row".

I think if South Point does their thing and chews up the clock, they'll be in good shape.

You'll have your hands full, their hc loves to throw the ball whether it be rpo or by design. I'd expect it to be balanced unless he finds a weak link in the secondary. Think of SC with more of a run game from the back not just the qb.

Max Preps says they out scored SP in the regular season. They also gave up fewer points. Which means absolutely nothing. I’ll change what 59 said a little bit. I’m just glad they got a home game!

EG has some athletes and can create some big plays. But up front they are ok on both sides of the ball. That’s where I think South Point wins by running the ball and controlling the clock

EG looks balanced on paper. Per Maxpreps they threw for 1300+ yards and rushed for 1500+. One back has almost 1100 yards. QB does not seem to be dual threat with 39 carries for 42 yds. Just like SP they only lost to good teams in NG and Dudley. Pretty much destroyed everybody else but who knows the competition level.

Agreed with BabyHewey...
They are very similar to SC but without the dual threat QB, but a more solid run game.

They'd fit well in the BigSouth Conference

It's 7 to 0 right now on Monday 11-1-2021 and EG doesn't even know it

That 312 pound white girl with cornrows and the meat-sweats who pulls for the Midgets from the visitor's side with 13 to 15 of her homeboy's and girls left her Raider cushion right where she sat last time. It's stuck there with sweat and BBQ sauce.

I watched some video on EG. Like SPRedRaider said OL is pretty massive. Much bigger than SP defensive line. A small but, quick RB # 21. A tall receiver # 4 will probably be a tough matchup for secondary. Will be an interesting matchup with the Wildcats.

I watched most of their game against Rockingham County. Very impressed with RB 21. Quick, elusive, and tough to bring down. Good athleticism across the board with 4 and 10. Defense flowed to the ball. RC had a big back who had some good runs up the gut but seemed to want to cut everything outside and did not have speed to out run the EG D. EG QB was solid but did not seem to have a cannon arm and did not throw well when pressured. However he had guys who could make plays when they had the ball. Tough call on this one as the talent level that they faced seems to be not at the same level that SP has played. Riley needs to have a good game as they will be tough to beat on the corners.

With SP it may come down to which team shows up. Early on SP relied strictly on Riley and only threw the ball on third and long. Lately they have changed things up some.

Other posters are saying EG has some speed on defense. That will make it hard for SP to run outside unless the option is working well.

South Point’s run defense has really struggled this year versus good offensive lines. Pass defense, I’m not even going there.

It's not like Page's 4 wins was against solid teams either. Beating Ragsdale, Western Guilford, SW and NW Guilford isn't nothing to brag about either. You sound like a hater going after another Guilford County School. Smdh

Sounds like it might be just a little bit nippy Friday night. In the past SP has played pretty well in the cold. Hopefully they will again this week. I think I saw where the high temperature Friday in the area was predicted to be around 57 degrees. By 7:30 / 8:00 it’ll probably be closer to 47.

Hey Rulz, Did your 312 lb Sister get you the Red Raider hoody you wanted? I knew she was yours when I saw her cramp on the way to the concession stand.

What year was it that South Point and North Gaston were both so good. I made the trip to North Gaston to watch that game. There were so many people at that game we had to stand under the scoreboard. If I remember right South Point pulled off a hook and ladder play late for a score. I think that was that game. South Point won.

2003 one of the best teams SP ever put on the field. South Point out scored their opponents 752 to 130.

1979 a whole lot of fun. Eight of us spent the night in one room at the only motel in Williamstown. Ahoskie High School doesn’t exist anymore.

2016 my favorite SP team. I loved the way the defense locked down everyone they played toward the end of the year, including Rocky Mount in the Championship game.

GO BIG RED !!!
