I noticed that too. Wanted to grab a pass for a friend, and even in Yellow, the cost was ridiculous for UMass.

The bare minimum level of giving is $2,500 a year just to get into Scarlet, plus the cost of the pass. Add the total and divide by the number of home games. Then factor in its a B1G home game against a classic name. I am surprised it's not $500.

That says more about fence sitting fans than season ticket holders. Power to demand comes in numbers. Right now, we don't have that luxury.

It goes both ways. A lot of fans want the world for free. The school doesn't earn a ton of revenue, so they get creative to increase it.

Just a thought....Maybe, just maybe if they didn't spend so much, they wouldn't need to earn a ton of revenue and long time fans wouldn't be so pissy about these things.

Then those same fans would b*tch about the product on the field. It's a no-win situation. In fact, fan support has dropped as the program was trending up. Rutgers went bowling in '23 and again in '24. Yet going into '25, fan support (season tickets) continued to decrease.

Agree with where you're going here, and I'll add:

- fairly boring product on the field those 2 seasons (and for a long time prior)
- the Illinois loss CRUSHED a lot of "fence sitters" when it came to renewing in '25. Our group - a lonnnng time crew now (oooof, that's scary, lol....), dropped half its season tickets. Those losses to Nebraska and Wisconsin didn't exactly help, either, let's be honest.

‘Going bowling’ isn’t significant when the bowls are around Xmas and 75% of FBS teams make them. Who cares. There are about 40 bowls. A much, much higher percentage of teams make bowls than basketball teams make the NCAAs, NIT and whatever other tourneys there are combined.

You see, this is where the positive assessment of Schiano fails. He’s accomplished virtually nothing of significance. 28% conference winning % tells the story. That shows the only reason he makes bowls, sometimes, is only because there are 20 too many.

Makes total sense mathmatically but they wouldnt sell many. This way they take the best they can get for a bunch. And btw this is like $50 to 75 higher than it was a minth ago when i tracked them, stub, n geek and purchased all my passes ad hoc across all 3 platforms.

I give them credit for finally selling direct vs. Shopping them out at a discount. But at some point they need to partition those lots giving the folks who donated the fr ont section if them ..Scarlot and Scarlot VIP. (Etc)

And this is why he’s a grifter. he’s moved the goalposts so far away from what other programs expect from their HCs that there aren’t any goalposts at all. And so arrogant to boot.

Developmental program, lack of support, new coaches, promised Fieldhouse that isn’t, be patient, etc. More excuses than pigeons on Easton Ave.
