Ice on his right hand post game. May explain some difficulties pushing the football down field. Worth watching.
Completion %, passes without an int. These are secondary stats. What really matters is how many points do you score.
The team has scored 21 points just once in the last 9 games. More than half of those games are with Dana. DR might get better, but right now he’s just a pretty good game manager that no defensive staff fears.
I guess some on here miss the 50 percent completion percentage and multiple turnovers by our QBs before Dylan. Good Lord, certain Husker fans are fvcking idiots.Good for DR. He has good distribution among many targets. Get more comfortable with key and Hunter. They will start pushing the ball down field. A nice stat comes out and minutes later negativity. It just doesn’t stop.
next they will say Iowa's QB is better because he runsI guess some on here miss the 50 percent completion percentage and multiple turnovers by our QBs before Dylan. Good Lord, certain Husker fans are fvcking idiots.
It was week 1. Most teams offense is a work in progress. Season hinges on how much we progress. Not where we startI love the decision making, completion percentage, and only one throw that could have been picked. I also loved the increased pocket presence; he was moving up under pressure better, as opposed to bailing (which he doesn’t have the speed to pull off consistently).
On the other hand, after just one game, he’s 87th out of FBS QBs in yards per throw, 5.8. That is not all on him. Cinci’s D, Holgerson’s calls, pass pro, receivers’ ability to get open, etc., all figure into that.
Imho, the overall O definitely remains a work in progress.
We are finally a big ten program. Outside of 2 or maybe 3 excellent teams, the rest just ask the QB to be game managers, no mistakes. Had we thrown 15 passes over 25 yards but had 1 more TD and 3 interceptions and lost would that be better in your eyes? We scored 20 points, gave up 17 that’s all that matters.Completion %, passes without an int. These are secondary stats. What really matters is how many points do you score.

Make the routine play. That's been the mantra. This, in my opinion is how they are going to develop him within Holg's scheme. The rest of the whiners are just that. More on this board than others. This is the process. Fist game, next game build on those and develop. Repeat. Let's see what happens game by game.Good for DR. He has good distribution among many targets. We haven’t had an offense for a really long time that did something well consistently. Maybe what we say Thursday can be the identity. Yes we need to score more but I’m not going to complain about it.Make the routine play. That's been the mantra. This, in my opinion is how they are going to develop him within Holg's scheme. We need guys to start taking the dinks and dunks for 30 yards after they catch it. Cinci was making us go the length of the field 4 yards at a time. That worked for Brady for years but he always had a guy who could take that 5 yard dump off to the house. Then when he had Moss, he could let it fly.Make the routine play. That's been the mantra. We may have seen the blueprint for this offense Thursday night. Short controlled passing game, running mostly tackle to tackle, minimal penalties and no turnovers, and multiple 8-10-12 play drives that result in available points, as well as outstanding field goal kicking. We need guys to start taking the dinks and dunks for 30 yards after they catch it. Going against three deep safeties will force you to do that. Big 10 teams will follow the Cincy plan if they choose too. We may see a lot of that all year. Last year, that Illinois cover zero blitz and man coverage gave us fits until Dana H. was able to start calling the plays. We need guys to start taking the dinks and dunks for 30 yards after they catch it. Barney at the very least has the potential to take a 7 yard completion to the house. Nelson and Haarberg as well could do it if we can hit them on a seam route. That’s not likely to happen though against 3 deep safeties I guessWe may have seen the blueprint for this offense Thursday night. The ability to do that has resulted in a lot of teams over the years to be successful. In addition, keeping the defense off the field and controlling the clock. It can work against several teams on our schedule, the trouble we run into is getting into a high scoring affair against any team that also has a strong defense that forces us out of our normal offense.
Other than the next two weeks, this is not an explosive offense as we don't have those type weapons. I don't see us putting a lot of pressure on defenses and there will be games where NU is going to have to score more than we typically do. We need the defense to step up and take pressure off the offense and allow them to make an occassional miscue.
Barney had 55 receptions last year and the longest one was only 40 yards. Other than Brice Turner, who is a real burner being transitioned to cornerback, most of the real speed has transferred out.Barney at the very least has the potential to take a 7 yard completion to the house. I was a little surprised on the limited use of Haarberg but with the way Lindenmeier plays he’s clearly top TE and Haarberg isn’tBarney at the very least has the potential to take a 7 yard completion to the house. I recall a few dummies on here last week saying bench Dylan for TJ. Lol. Idiots.
Honestly. Sometimes I wonder if its just trolls or certain fans really are that fvcking stupid? There is a certain DR hater that has been awfully quiet. But his wife might have his hands full.
Both can be true.Honestly. Sometimes I wonder if its just trolls or certain fans really are that fvcking stupid?
