Is it possible OSU offered the S.D. quarterback because they knew Dylan was going to decommit, rather than the other way around?

If Dylan is not interested...This will be a tough one for the crowd that bought the story that Frost was soooooo hammered that he could not go meet Dylan and that his Dad BEGGED him to come over because Dylan was sooooo N.
Imagine claiming to be a Husker fan, and this is your first thought when a legacy opens up his recruitment. Sadly some still think there’s no way these “stories” of a lazy *** drunk not doing the basics of his job could possibly be true

Man we need to start hot and not lose to MINN and CU. Whoever built this schedule is fool. Should be starting with 2 easy games to build momentum.

yep

it's beyond obvious that disgraced former player was as derelict in his duty as humanly possible

should never, ever, ever be allowed to live down his failures here

no days should go by without him feeling a crippling amount of shame

The Raiola kid has a year to see what happens at NU in terms of improvement on the field. His dad was a NU legend and his uncle is a coach. Everything but the recent win/loss record is in NU’s favor.

Yeah, it's now on the coaches not to screw it up and they have a great shot, I think.

If, by some miracle, he winds up at NU, I would instantly become the most excited that I've been about the program's future since November 22, 2001. The next day was the *** whooping by Colorado and things have never truly been the same since.

Unless something has changed since our program defining win against the neighbors to the east, we still don't have a line, and are devoid of a single play maker. Not sure why a #1 rated QB would seriously look our way, yet, so here's to hoping our rebuild is on the fast track.

This is the only reason Raiola was retained, and that was smart by Rhule

Landing the #1 QB historically correlates very tightly with making a run to the CFP

Anyone who says different is clueless

Does it really matter at this point?
IF it was him that decided to leave OSU then it tells me there's something more to the story. Either some other school caught his eye and he wants to take some more visits again or some school is offering more NIL. The reverse would be on Ohio State screwing up their recruiting efforts. So yes, I'm curious about the root cause.

But also I'm glad it happened whatever the cause. I'm not completely surprised though as I wondered back in May if his commitment to Ohio State would last. IMO those early commitments are less likely to last these days all the way to signing day unless the kid is a home state kid. And I'm guessing there will a few big surprises on signing day for different schools.

UPDATE: It's sounding more and more to me from the reports I read that it was Raiola deciding to dump Ohio State first. Leads me to believe there is another school he's favoring although his Dad claims he's now completely open.

One great thing about our universe is that nothing remains in a stagnate form, there is always change. I hope I'm right I just think change is coming and in a good way.

Very true. That said, if he does commit to NU, we know who would absolutely put a priority on putting a good line in front of him - his uncle.

Random thoughts:

1. I would pay the kid a bunch just to fake commit to us to help boost recruiting momentum to attract other talent. Then he can bail if he wants, and we’d still be better off.

2. Just off the top of my head, I feel like the majority of top NFL QBs (past/present) did not play for powerhouse, dominant programs… so he could take the easy path and play for a powerhouse program, become Lincoln Riley’s 4th or 5th Heisman winner while never really being challenged, then go on to a solid NFL career…. OR he could become a legend for the ages, helping Nebraska rise from the ashes and having to actually grind it out on a more challenging and far more rewarding path, then go on to become the next NFL great.

3. “Kid, do you want your dad to wallow in misery looking at the trash pile his alma mater has become? Or do you wanna say, ‘hey dad I got this, let’s bring back your team so you can be proud again.’ ? “

Sell it Rhule.

So who's got the assignment to monitor the flight trackers to see if there are flights happening between Lincoln and Raiola's home town? LOL.
