Pretty good game. I was concerned with the secondary and the pass rush, in that order. I understand being less aggressive on the pass rush vs an Army team that no one expected to pass the ball, because of concerns about draws and screens. But there was relatively little pressure on a QB vs the most suspect line we'll see all year. Of far more concern was how open the receivers were all during the second half. I'd expected the secondary to be a relative strength, but the receivers were pretty open for most of the game. Given the offenses we'll see this year, that is concerning.

On offense, we did look better. Jones was better at picking up blitz packages than last year, but this is not a great defense. In the second half he started to lock in on receivers too early and stay locked on. And a few of his passes, even some completions, were not very accurate. Vs better defenders some of those passes would have been incompletions, at best.
.
Still, overall we looked very good, given it was the first game of the season. Cut didn't look too happy, and I understand that. The pieces are all there, and better execution might lead to some big wins. It is sad that this year's schedule is so much tougher than last year's.
