Just bust em up 1st. game We need to win this one by a lot of points to get the momentum going from the start. A loss or a win by a small margin is not good. With that said I will still take a win. OFC
I'll be there. Hope it doesn't rain and hoping for no injuries. Army, Navy and GT love those chop blocks. I want to see a great mix of passing and running on offense and lots of guys see playing time. This type of game is a tough way to start the season and I expect a rugged battle. Army has improved every year and even though they graduated their QB, I don't expect them to miss a beat. I am thinking Duke win but will not be easy.
I’m looking for a very competive game. Hope their qb from last year has graduated.
The key seems to be to get our defense off the field. Last year Army dominated the ball and coupled with Duke's inept offense and bad special team play, there went the game.
Duke has to stop the run and dominate the line of scrimmage. This is a critical game considering the schedule this year.

I expect a fired up, physical, and motivated Duke team to hit the field Friday. Get up early and keep the pedal down.

I will be there. Vegas line has Duke by like -13 I believe.

Passing game will be the key. Jones and our wr's need to get off to a good start. If they do I think we win big!!!

Yes Bradshaw has graduated, and be thankful. He BLISTERED us last year in that option! Its still going to be a tough game I feel, DEFINITELY not a gimme for an opener!

Good first game win. Jones with a very good performance. Brown ran well up until injury. Receivers had good game. Defensive line and linebackers played well in second half shutting down running game. Secondary got beat a few times. Northwestern going to be a major challenge next week.
solid if not great game by the devils tonight. offense looked good when they were not throwing those stupid bubble screens. defense was okay tonight but gave up some wide open catches. so a few stats

Pretty good game. I was concerned with the secondary and the pass rush, in that order. I understand being less aggressive on the pass rush vs an Army team that no one expected to pass the ball, because of concerns about draws and screens. But there was relatively little pressure on a QB vs the most suspect line we'll see all year. Of far more concern was how open the receivers were all during the second half. I'd expected the secondary to be a relative strength, but the receivers were pretty open for most of the game. Given the offenses we'll see this year, that is concerning.

In the second half he started to lock in on receivers too early and stay locked on. And a few of his passes, even some completions, were not very accurate. Vs better defenders some of those passes would have been incompletions, at best.

Still, overall we looked very good, given it was the first game of the season. Cut didn't look too happy, and I understand that. The pieces are all there, and better execution might lead to some big wins. It is sad that this year's schedule is so much tougher than last year's.

All the frosh were there together, they just didn’t come in together. Nolan was with them and when he left Jav came.
Decent game against that offense, hopefully a tune up for GT. We will see who we are next week.
