Their observation of our inbound play against ND was one of complete amazement considering the situation.
Said they felt bad for Paul he was asked to deliver the ball given the setup.

Yes we did. For all the good Pike has brought crapping out on important inbounds plays is officially a recurring issue. That Stonybrook nightmare keeps on haunting.

I am not an X and O basketball expert, but when the started lining up I was saying "What the F, they are doing the same stupid play they did against Penn State".

Would think you just have the 4 guys line up and break off in different directions, simple but effective......

Definitely great coaches make mistakes, it happens all the time , and coach Pike is definitely a good coach but not an excellent coach outside the RAC , he needs to be to get the big time recruits to call RU home.

It was a poor design poorly executed imo.

Was a very poor inbounds play in my humble opinion. St Peters ran a far superior inbound play in their end of game scenario. Further, St Peters correctly applied soft pressure on the Kentucky inbound while SP had the narrow lead. Two areas I feel Pike and the coaches failed to implement the proper tactic.

Problem is we have no inbounds plays and we ran the same stupid play where we couldn't get the ball in bounds against Penn State

I don’t know anything about the play design. All I know is I did not want Paul to be the inbounder. I felt the same way BEFORE the Penn State turnover which was bad but was also a much more difficult play than the ND one. Paul had been a shaky inbounder way before Penn State. Yes he then came down and nailed a three but it was still a devastating turnover.

The point of the thread is it’ wasn’t Paul’s fault.
Give him a couple options and he’ll find one with no problem

The inbound play was named "the element of surprise inbound." The problem is Notre Dame was not surprised. Better luck next time.

When it came to not handling the in-bounds play, I thought Gary Waters was the all time worst. Pike is now in contention.

You don’t need to be a basketball genius or Rutgers HOF to see that was a brain dead inbounds play, and it’s been a consistent issue.

Paul’s share of the blame is that he should have taken a TO. But that blame is far short of the coaching staff who for the life of them cannot come up with an inbounding play. Really it’s hard to understand.

I think his comment was that it have options and made it harder on the defense. Suggests it may have been an execution problem more than a design problem. Or a bad design for our personnel.

ND, as any team in their spot would, is defending hard, you're not going to get an easy pass to a wide open guy. It's going to be a difficult pass into a tight spot.

Yeah agreed, I’ve still seen better though. But Paul threw it way over his head.

obviously the people you spoke to are F-ing morons. Geo was open paul missed him. Caleb was open paul missed him. Ron was open paul threw it over his head.

you guys will say anything to kill pikiell. Literally anything. It is kind of gross.

you are all ignoring the fact that three guys were open and paul didn’t throw it to any of them

The defender guarding the ball has his back to the basket, he doesn’t know what’s happening behind him.

I would have liked to see a double screen with the #1 option flashing to Pauls right side (the open end of the court) and screen set for another man to peel off to Paul’s left side (towards the corner).

If you get to the corner you call a time out, if the ball goes to your #1 option you’re at the line icing the game.

I think you’re unfairly lumping zappaa in here, he’s not one of those.

Its an unfortunate thing that retards have been allowed to run so amok here that it becomes a delicate thing to say anything negative at all lest someone assume you’re part of the “fire pike” crowd
