Intriguing prospect. Never seen him play but judging off size and stats alone I would think he’s worth a look.

Sophomore means same class as herro and he’s from Iowa so if cal wants him he might want to lean on herro to help recruit him.

I wonder if they vote yes this summer he is eligible for the upcoming season? An interesting prospect to me.

Might be worth a flier just in case. We are looking at just 8 guys on scholarship, the way it’s going. We have 5 spots open, most likely. So Cal could take him and if he is eligible, then great. If not, then we have a practice player for 2020-21 who will be ready to contribute in 2021-22 and we still have room to get another big man.

He is a major late bloomer. Didn't start until his senior year of high school, received no offers and went to a prep school and lost 70lbs. Didn't play much his freshman year of college either.

I read his uncle is an assistant coach at Minnesota so that might be a factor. Also, Iowa people thinking they’d be a major player since he’s from there.

Holy moly. I know he’s playing in a mid major conference but his instincts on defense look incredible. He didn’t bite on pump fakes and he seems to be able to stay on his man while knowing where the ball is at all times. He watches the ball and that’s where his hand goes. I wonder what his wingspan is, cuz he looks even longer than he is tall.

Agreed...looks very discipline on D and reads the defense well for being a soph.

If he wasn’t a 5 star we won’t take him. Cal needs to leave 5 schollies open each year for whatever reason. Go cats.

Slugger doesn’t Whitney have a little brother? Maybe the staff can misevaluate him too and let him play half a year at someone else’s expense so they can get him to the nba asap. Players first by God.

Watching those highlights makes me miss the days of letting kids play. Imagine Nick this year on the defensive end with that whistle!

To team up with Garza? Maybe? Would be formidable. OTOH maybe he wants to win it all at UK.

Hopefully he wants to challenge himself at a place like UK.

I'm just seeing that he grew up an hour from Iowa City and Iowa is thin in the front court.

Garza likes to stretch it out. Plenty of room for Liam to roam the paint with a twin tower feel.
