Slugger doesn’t Whitney have a little brother? Maybe the staff can misevaluate him too and let him play half a year at someone else’s expense so they can get him to the nba asap. Players first by God.
You're right. I would much rather have a coach with your ability to evaluate talent. You know the kind that whines long and loud after the player doesnt work out. Blames others, makes demeaning comments about his assistants and then says, Go Cats. Sign me up for that type of program to follow.

Hopefully he wants to challenge himself at a place like UK.

I'm just seeing that he grew up an hour from Iowa City and Iowa is thin in the front court.

Garza likes to stretch it out. Plenty of room for Liam to roam the paint with a twin tower feel.

His uncle is the gophers Assistant coach don’t be surprised to see him join him there

Robbins is an intriguing prospect. He's closer to the type of rim protectors we were known for from 2012 to 2015 than any other center we've had since. His block % was nearly 13 this past season. That's a higher rate than Willie Cauley Stein put up in any season of his career. Offensively, he has some room to grow. He didn't shoot a high percentage from the field, but his free throw percentage was around 70. That suggests he has pretty good touch for a big and a high ceiling for developing a shooting touch.

If he is on the market, he'd be a great target to land. He has potential and is close to that traditional rim protector that we've missed.

I love how the same posters who cry about the fans who ***** about OAD on here are the same posters who lap this grad transfer free agency crap up. Those are the very same posters who always say "Id rather have OAD than Tubby or BCG recruits." Then in the very next breath go on in a potential grad transfer thread about how awesome it would be to get that guy. Guys from Bucknell, Drake, etc.

I have read this five times and don't understand what you're saying or who you're angry at.

What am I missing? I mean that sincerely, no snark at all. I understand those words but not in that order lol.

I think he is saying that the posters on this board who seem to continually complain about the OAD approach seem to have have embraced and fallen in love with the chance of getting a grad transfer. I believe he is saying there is an inconsistency in that thinking in that OAD are usually top players and the grad transfers are, while sometimes , very good, are usually not program changers. Jmo.

Honest question: how does playing in the MVC compared to the SEC affect his block rate? I am not sure how the level of competition affects this. Just wondering how that would translate?

Have learned that if a big is not strong, a rough neck and plays with high intensity ALL of the time, he isn't going to make much of an impact these days. Finess bigs can give you offense and some can block a few shots but when it comes to rebounding and being a major force around the rim you can't be a finess type.

Whatever big out there that has that strength, physicality and intensity I want him. All the others not going to make that big a difference if we get them or not. Might as well play three or four guards that can handle and shoot and play full speed up tempo if you can't talk legit bigs into coming here. Tired of the too weak, doesn't play hard enough and not rough enough bigs we always have plenty of.

I personally think it’s getting sad that we have to fill out our roster with these guys every year. What happened to getting damn near any guy we wanted? Don’t get me wrong, I’ve been a Cal fan since day one, but I cringe now when he throws out phrases like “gold standard”. This is just my opinion, but I don’t see it anymore. We’re a damn good program, but the gold standard should perform a little better than this. Start paying players, get Antigua back, whatever. Just change this thing up a little bit and let’s get the damn mojo back.

Before I get yelled at I’ll clarify the main arguments:
I’m not a Louisville fan
I’m not a Duke fan
I’m not a troll
I’m a Kentucky fan
I don’t want Tubby or Gillespie back

I think that covers it lol
