Sorry, you kind of had to go back a few posts. I quoted a quote of a quote of a post made by Pennsy, where he stated, “... other than Ohio State we have equal to better talent than any other team on our schedule. Perhaps that is incorrect. But it is based on comparative recruiting rankings”

I do think that with Iowa having more (9 to 8) and more top end talent listed (5 to 3 first and second teamers), that they can still say there is more talent on Iowa at this point in time.

This is according to Athlon and I haven’t looked into the others.

When they made this list Derrick Mills just arrived and he should have been in there he will be one of the top 5-7 running backs in the B1G..

Brotha, you have to learn when to pop in and chat and when to leave crap alone. I thought very highly of you till you liked an absolutely BS post a Wisconsin fan was posting on here. Now you’re turning this thread into a Iowa vs Husker pissing match. Simply put, Athlons Preseason all conference team has Iowa with 9 and Husker with 8. To me, that’s dam near EVEN. So forgive me, but Iowa is NOT above the Huskers talent wise...even going off that link. The point was supposed to be the Huskers have the overall talent to compete in the West...it was NEVER a Iowa vs Husker pissing match. Like one poster said, can we please make a thread for the Iowa fans and ND fans to have so they can post in, so us HUSKERS can have our threads without it turning into a pissing match...GBR

You are delusional if you think we have talent equal to or better than all but Ohio State. Just look at the pre season magazine's all BIG three deeps. We have one or two players total. Until Frost builds a Michigan, Wisconsin, Michigan State, Iowa, Northwestern level defense we will stick at 6-6 or 7-5 records. Offense is fun but pitching a great defense wins championships. No one wants to talk about it on this site, but I will be proven correct that Chinander's is not the answer. He has never put a strong defense on a Power 5 field.

Normally I’d agree but commonly OSU has bad defenses...Stat and overall ranking wise. Like last season, their defense was ranked 100 in the country or worse. It’s our style of offense and teams that run our type of offense, they usually will not rank out good. Now If you have an offense like Wisconsin, Iowa, and teams like that...then defenses are HUGE...because you don’t have the offenses to score in a hurry.

Maybe he will end up being that but no, he shouldn’t be on a preseason list. The same goes for Fields. Martinez should be above him IMO.
