I would love to have him. Not crazy about a 4/5 combo that can't shoot again. Would make getting a stretch 4 to come off the bench very important. Need a Carr type to stretch the floor. Pope's offense works so much better with a 4 man that can space the floor.

3pt shooting wise, Freeman shoots 3.3 a game at 31%. Carr was 34% on 2.3 a game.

@Rainmaker do you think we try for Momcilovic if he stays in college? He seems like the prototypical player Pope should go after for his offense. I know everybody and their mom will want him though.
I believe we definitely will go after him, not sure of his interest though. Haven’t heard much regarding him, but I agree the perfect fit. For now it’s either Freeman or Goode with a chance of possibly both. Avdalas and Murauskas are still possibilities as well. I think we only get 2 though so doesn’t leave much room for Momcilovic at that point. We’d have to try either way though.

If pope can pull that off that would spark some life in the Pope Deniers, including my self. But I would still be hesitant until I actually see them play against good competition.

We still need a strong SG.
Yup. If he gets even three of those four I start to see some real optimism from myself. And I’ve been hard core in the corner of pope can’t get this done.

He’s a player you make it work for. Play him at SF if you have to. Play two forwards in the starting lineup. His shooting is that good.

Oh **** wow, been a lot of doubters on this board, they didn’t see the vision, glad some of us saw the bigger picture.
Phil, come down because it isn't over. Pope would still have to coach the team, develop the players, and win basketball games.

No truer words, though I’m glad that this has been a unifying cause to bring many of the non-believers into the circle of trust.

Doubtful .. There's a number of posters who are so invested in their narrative that Pope isn't the guy, nothing will change their mind.
Nonsense. Winning will change minds. But haven't seen too much of it in 2 seasons. Recruiting still stands at this hour as dismal. But even if he does land some of these targets, he still has to win with them. If we were simply looking for recruiting titles alone, we could have kept the previous coach. I grow so weary of this 'bad fan' apologist nonsense. We aren't bad fans. We simply are observing what Pope is producing here.

I was as disappointed with Pope and last season as anyone but let's not forgot he was pretty good his first year. A bunch of big wins and a season derailed by injury. Gimme a healthy Butler, Carr and Robinson and that first year could have ended in a final 4.

If we have the horses next year I am going to be excited and give him the benefit of the doubt.
