Driving to the ‘Burgh for a wedding on Pitt’s campus tomorrow …

Poor fellow. Watch where you step on the sidewalks and entryways to buildings.
Happy Birthday John. Would have been 86 years old.....taken much, much too early....
Pittsburgh in mourning, Donnie Iris retires. MTV may have killed his career, since he wasn't much of a looker.
I would have guessed that Leon would have played on more session tracks than Glen. Not so. Leon only 400 in his life. GC over 500 in 1963 alone.
GC certainly played on this one - Phil Spector, and it took 35 days:
Leon, Glen, and Waylon in 1966:

Darryl Hall turns 80 on Sunday. I picked a song he wrote alone, no John Oates, neither of the Allen sisters, nor anyone else. Just Darryl Hall.
This song was a minor hit, not a big hit, but I really like it. You know how some songs make you feel like you're going back in time when you hear them? Well this is one that does that to me.

My older siblings had The Rapper on 45 when I was a kid. Then later Donny Iris became a successful solo artist. It was long after that though that I learned he was in The Jaggerz and wrote The Rapper. Great tune.
I know Ah Leah and Love Is Like A Rock were his two biggest hits, and I like those too, but this is the one I like most by him.
From their Twitter they're going to be in the upper north end zone. The USC band in the upper north end zone? Come on! They're way better than that.
this live version of this song is so amazing, the feedback, the hair, the key board player, Dawnie just laying it down............
You want a picture of what I was typing with?
