no talk of a transfer, but I wouldn't think we'd hear anything until after the bowl game.

I doubt he stays down there and will transfer back home. I would rather have this transfer than a JUCO QB. But that is just my opinion.

We could use the joe burrow kid who is at OSU. I doubt he would be allowed to transfer within the conference. He was in line to take over for Barrett at one time but now is behind the Haskins kid who is a freshman.

I wonder if Vedral is the reason Wilson was slow played? Or at least a factor in it?

For the 5th time at least. Frost was at Oregon. Wilson was behind a true freshman walk on when he transferred from Oregon. Frost knows enough about him to make an educated decision. We already have a walk on Juco QB on the roster who appears to have a similar skill set to Wilson. Scholarship distribution wise the pressing need is for a freshman QB.

No kidding? I think I’ve heard that about twelve times. Yes well aware he recruited him there. Well aware he was beat out. Well aware he left Oregon, to Garden City. Well aware that he was the conference offensive player of the year. Well aware that he was still contacted by Frost, had a visit scheduled/re-scheduled, and appeared to be a back up plan to potentially come here. It appears he was slow played for a reason or reasons, and just speculating as to why.

Because Adrian Martinez is all but "N" at this point. Maybe already is, just not publicly.

I figured that. Re-scheduling Wilson’s visit, and then him committing to Kentucky speaks volumes. My point is you have to consider Vedral could also in play here.

I want Vedral to transfer for selfish reasons. One reason is he knows the system and has been on the college field. Second he would help others learn the system too and he could play if needed.

I agree its meaningless, but he would have told tennessee by now and probably posted a twitter thing or whatever every kid does when they decommit.
Tomorrow night we could see just that.
If not, Im not confident hes a silent. If you know you arent going to tennessee, you tell them. At the very least he isnt N yet if he doesnt decommit openly by Tuesday.

The article I read he said he plans on making a decision with in the next week, not 100 percent on his announcement but the plan is as previously stated. He also has an in home with Pruitt that he was waiting on.

Everything he's had to say about Nebraska was all very positive. He thought our facilities were amazing, he and his high school coach think the offense is a perfect fit for him, he seems to like the coaches and he knows of the history and support behind the school. Liked that players on roster were from all over the place as well as having some Californians, etc.

Over all very positive view of Nebraska..

I can't say for sure that he'll end up at Nebraska but it wouldn't surprise me at all if he did.

These kids want to play. Who is front of Martinez at TN? If he comes to NU and ends up behind POB/ TG he won’t see the field until he’s a senior.

Graduated in 3 years playing college FB, and not on The Tarheel academic plan? Impressive.

Very impressive. I wonder how many dual credits he brought from HS? I brought an entire semster over. I know some kids now are bringing way more. He may have played his cards right and brought a years worth of credits from HS.

I disagree with everything about your statement.
What is there to disagree with? Both POB and TG are young QBs. Unless Martinez can come in and start as a frosh, it is likely one of the other two will be #1 next fall. He will have to compete for a spot with two guys who talented and as highly regarded as him in terms of recruit rating. How clear is the path to #1 at TN is a legit question.
That said, I certainly hope we get him.

If a kid is visiting other schools, whether it's Nebraska verbal commit or a Tennessee verbal commit, he has "opened" his recruitment.

Whether or not he thumbs out "I'm opening my recruitment" on Twitter.

If you're dating a girl and she goes out to movies and dinner with someone else, she's seeing other people regardless if she has called you or sent you a text explicitly stating that fact.

So Cam Jurgens was open to LSU and not committed to Nebraska, correct?
And why did players decommit from us recently? Why not just keep it secret open?

I agree hes shopping around and we have a chance and we may well get him, Im just not ready to believe the whole silent commit sentiment thats on this board. If he knows for sure he isnt going to tennessee hed say so.

Tennessee's starting QB was a freshman this year. Their backup was also a freshman. So Martinez will have competition for the next 3 years at either school.

Tennessee also another 4-star QB committed in this class, though he has been visiting some other schools too.

Vedral maybe doesn't fit the roster distribution we need. He would have to redshirt and most guys I listen to who I think are knowledgeable about Frost's offense and our current QBs think Gebbia will be out starter next fall. So IF Vedral comes he would be in the same class with Gebbia who would already have a year under his belt in the offense. It will be interesting to watch it play out. Vedral is a nephew of some friends of mine so I'm rooting for him to succeed no matter what.

I personally believe Martinez will be our starter next year. It doesn't matter if Gebbie has a year and POB has two years in Riley's system. Martinez has more experience than both of them put together in a system similar to Frost.

POB operated a comparable O in HS and has two years of college experience. Highly ranked out of HS. Let’s hope you’re right and Martinez really has the goods. But I’d say it’s less than a coin flip.

I worked with a kid this morning who will have 36 credit hours completed by graduation.. crazy. Meanwhile when I was 18 I was taking pottery and photograph.

My daughter's boyfriend is likely going to Harvard next fall after graduating from high school next spring with in excess of 16 hours of college credit in math. He's taking stats right now...

If the coach thought those guys could run his offense he wouldn't be looking foe an immediate plug and play type player.

That’s called risk management. Wilson was apparently not offered and Martinez would be a frosh. Get him and NU should have a good 3QB competition.
