On anyone else's nerves? I'm sure he's a good guy but he's got way too much of a game show announcer vibe for me. Random thoughts.

Same.

As much as I want to give him the benefit of the doubt for being our guy ... he just talks so deliberately (I think that's the main thing) that I can hardly make it through a game.

Yes

He and Bart do a whole lot of talked to hear their own voice. Awful.

I'll take him over Wyatt every time. I think he does a really good job.

Thought I was the only one. Seems like a great guy, but the way he tries to emphasize every sentence gets tiresome quickly. Very Game show-esque like you said. If by some chance he reads this thread, if he would quit trying to force a broadcaster voice and just talk in his normal voice instead... he'd probably be good. Seems knowledgeable

I think all of our guys need to let the silence speak for a second. I love some dead air on a bb broadcast.

He seems to be pretty knowledgeable of the game, but he talks entirely too much for a color guy. And he rambles. He will make the same point 3 different times when once would have been sufficient. This in turn cuts into Barts play-by-play time. Game show announcer voice is a good analogy.

I've wanted to start this thread multiple times but didn't want to be mean cause I'm sure he's a good guy.

He emphasizes every sentence like someone else said and it drives me crazy. Two big things if he reads this that I would critique him on for him to change is stop saying every person your talking about classification over and over. The freshman makes the play. The Junior with the hit. The senior with the catch. Drives me nuts!

Also understand your job as the color guy. So many times after he talks about a play he will then set up the scenario and do Bart's job.

After listening to Wyatt and Ellis for years and not knowing down distance inning out or score, jay has been a pleasure. I love listening to Starkville High games.

Agreed. Good guy and ambassador for our University. But just sounds a little 'over produced.'
Almost morning radio zoo-crewish.
