Yes. Auburn lost to a team worse than us (South Carolina) and outside of LSU and Kentucky they haven't performed significantly better than us against common opponents.

I wouldn't put any money on us straight up, but we're probably a good value pick on the money line.

I’ve been feeling pretty good about this one ever since they announced the schedule change. We are a bad matchup for Auburn coming in a weird spot for them on the schedule.

I’m not sure they are quite the vertical threat down the field that OM or UGA with Daniels is. Bo Nix’s home/road splits this year are crazy. 9/1 TD/INT ratio and 161 passer rating at home and 1/6 TD/INT ratio and 97 passer rating on the road. We are pretty solid against the run and get our two best pass rushers back finally after missing the UGA and OM games.

On the other side of the ball, again we are a strange matchup for them. Auburn and Kevin Steele are notorious for blitzing like crazy and playing in your face man to man. Play that against us and Leach can torch you like he did against LSU and UGA on the rare occasions they jumped into man. Even if Auburn does change it up this week and decide to sit back in zone, how prepared will they really be? Only having one week to implement a totally different defensive strategy is really tough. UGA struggled with this and they have the best defensive athletes in the country.

They are coming off two tough losses, and we had a bye week. How motivated will Auburn be, with this being their last game of 2020? Gus knows his seat is hot and he has to win. Can they get up for it, or will they go through the motions and overlook us? Considering what they did to us last year, it may be tough to convince the Auburn players that they can lose this game.

Really fascinating matchup and one I think we can win.

I feel better about Auburn at home than OM in Oxford. Not great in either though.

Yes, I feel like we CAN win, and here are my reasons:

1) Auburn is young on the lines.
2) Bo Nix has been much worse on the road.
3) Hot seat coaches usually don't have their teams playing better, we are trending upwards, they are trending downwards, and we have REAL motivation, while they are probably playing out of fear or whatever.
4) Like another poster said, Steele is kinda one of those cocky old school DCs, who may try and play man.
5) We've been prepping for 2 weeks.
6) We've got some additional players back.

It just seems like it may be time. Of course, we're MSU, and they're Auburn, and we REALLY need this for recruiting, so you know what typically happens in that scenario. I still keep hoping that Leach really is different, and things will happen differently than they typically do for us. I mean did anybody see LSU coming, even though all the tea leaves said it probably COULD happen?

I think we may have a better chance of beating Auburn than we do Missouri... and I still think we have a decent chance against Mizzou.

I do not. Auburn scored 56 and Nix burned us deep twice for tds last year as he threw for 335 yards. Our secondary has gotten significantly worse than on that day.
