Melvin Gordon just scored again.
Lmfao......🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 that's SO ORIGINAL 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Did you come up with that all by yourself????🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂

I may have to use that one in about 5 years if we still have coaching that can't get us to a winning record or even 10 wins....

Eichorst fired him. I'm still convinced (sorta) Eichorst (formerly an assistant AD at Wisconsin) came in hoping to screw Nebraska.

Look at it: Eichorst hires a guy who failed at Oregon State. Oregon State hires Wisconsin guy to replace guy who failed (for many years, mind you) at Oregon State. I'm only semi-serious in that conspiracy theory.

The fact that he fired a coach who averaged 9.5 wins/season is ridiculous. No matter how bad he was at being a crowd-pleaser. Especially so, seeing as where we're at now.
If your theory about Eichorst is true, he would have kept Bo Pelini, since Pelini got routinely blown out by Wisconsin.

I mean I’d take 9-4 or 10-4 any day compared to the crap show that’s been going on since his departure. Sometimes I wonder what Bo could have done with those 2015 or 2016 teams, I think those would have been 10-11 win teams with him as HC. Maybe we’re not only cursed by Solich, but by Pelini too. We also haven’t beaten Iowa since he was fired.

Anyway, I still find it puzzling why some people still hate his guts especially with the results we have had since his firing. Some will say “well with Frost at least we ain’t getting blown out”. Well that’s fine I guess if your content with living off of moral victories.
Just stop!! go back to the Iowa board

LOL you're pretty triggered this morning. Unoriginal as it may be, it's a microcosm of the Pelini era. Beat teams like Indiana each year, laughed off the field against teams like Wisconsin. Pelini was never going to win a conference title and fired a year too late if you ask me.

I give Bo credit for being the only HC over the last 20+ years who held off the long term decline of the team, at least in terms of wins and losses.
But I don't think he was cut out to be a HC at a P5 program. By the end of his tenure he was as tired of us as we were of him.
I thank him for winning a lot of games, but it was never going to end well.

9-3 here his last year with a win over Iowa in his last game.

When is the last time that happened and WHEN IS THE NEXT TIME THAT WILL HAPPEN??? Do you have a clue??

So what?

Bo Pelini's trophy case, all time.

Including his time here, his time prior to being here, and his time after getting fired here:

Bo haters right now are trying to figure out how to spin it that Frost's big win over NW this year is better than any win Bo had.

I don't miss the split screen broadcast with a camera watching Bo's every move to capture the moment he loses it and punches a ref.

This is why I was relieved when he was fired. Every Saturday you had to wonder if video of Pelini losing his **** would be leading the Sportscenter broadcast. It was pathetic.

Oh another one who is proud of losing and being the embarrassment of Blue Blood nation for 7 years straight!

I'm glad I don't run into Nebraska FANatics like you. Since I don't live in Nebraska fans I are pretty smart don't, not naive, not kool aid drinkers and don't have their heads stuck up each other's asses breathing the same air!
I was wrong. This isn’t Mrs Pelini. I think we’ve actually located Bo himself.

.... the losses to OU, MU, MSU would have been by 30.
That's likely (OU and Michigan for sure), since those teams have a pulse.

But we would have DESTROYED both Illinois and Minnesota (two bad teams). Ended second or third in the West with a trip to the also-ran bowl. Better than we are gong to end up this season, but who really cares about the 4th-6th best team in the BIG?

Pelini reached his apex here. If that were not the case, he would be a head coach at another P5 program right now and owning his conference.

He beat virtually every single team that he had a talent edge over (something the current staff is unable to do).

However, he lost most games where the talent was similar, and got blown off the field by virtually every team that had a talent edge over him.

The only thing I miss about Bo Pelini is that his team usually beat the teams his team was supposed to beat. I do not, for a second, miss the beatdowns.

He should have been fired the minute he refused to fire Carl when Tom told him to. Tom was pressured by the Hawks to hire Bo and warned by Frank not to do it. It should have never happened.

Not convinced Mullen would be all that different than Pelini. His Florida teams this year and last are reminiscent of Pelini’s teams at NU.
One point that Tom made before he hired Bo was "it's darned hard to win games in college football. It's a tough job". I don't think any of our fans believed it after being spoiled for so long by his tenure. He was a brilliant coach and we'll never find another one like him in my opinion. Guys like Saban are great coaches but nothing they do is really innovative. They just recruit better and execute what they do better than anybody else IMO. Tom was innovative.

I don't dispute that it's hard to win. It's why I never called for Bo's head over his W/L record. I don't think he was ever going to be better than what he showed record wise but it is also true that his ridiculous behavior wasn't going to get better either.

Bo played OU how many times?

3? One was a blowout, one was a Husker win and one was like a one score game I think.

Bo played Michigan how many times? I know he beat them once, did he get killed the other times?

He also beat back to back top 10 Mizzo and Okie State.

He's the only coach in recent years who's actually beaten Wisconsin. And yes, Bo struggled against good running teams early during our move to the Big 10. That's not that surprising and a lot of head coaches out there would struggle with the transition from the pass happy Big 12 to the run dominant Big 10. It's weird the amount of disdain Pelini gets when he was top 5 nationally in wins during his tenure here. He was a good coach and you don't get to 9 or 10 wins every single year without being a good coach.

I don't hate Pellini, but I do think his won-lost record would have worsened and recruiting would have declined also. I think it was time for him to go.

looks like we struck a nerve.

you are wildly inconsistent with your takes. it puts you in a disadvantageous position if you're trying to be taken seriously.

Frost appears to be the opposite of Pelini. He loses 8 games a year, doesn't go to a bowl, finds improbable ways to lose (Pelini found improbable ways to win), is respectful to fans, and was famous for being an offensive genius.
