Def want a DJ... especially one that will lead the crowd in he RU chant the right way.... we need to have a pause after each R and each U, otherwise it sounds stupid as U - R

The video is cool. But Oh man... after seeing it, I hope we get rid of the 3rd down 3 finger guitar thing and think of something better
Why? That is PURE Rutgers!! Love seeing a full student section doing it and so does the rest of the nation.

The only thing we need to “get rid of” - IMHO - is that ridiculous air raid siren that has nothing to do with RU and screws up our 3rd down FWTBT/air guitar package lol

Willing to bet there is a strong correlation between those who don't want DJYoshi back and those waxing nostalgic about Imus.
Doubt it...what makes college football more fun than the nfl is the pomp and circumstance of the bands and traditions and all of that. Following a school you attended.

a DJ is great...for a club. Rutgers should continue to invest in its band and the band should provide all the entertainment.

DJ Yoshi is fine before the game starts. Once a college football game begins, no canned music- and I don’t care if it is Dr Dre or Captain and Tennille. And can we PLEASE have a marching band bigger than Ewing High School.

I'd be interested in getting rid of that whole sound effects package they use through the scoreboard - it's a pre-packaged bundle used at every NFL stadium and most college stadiums nowadays.

Exactly, we're not a professional sports franchise: let's act like a college.

Huh?

The band isnt being replaced, theyre still there and they still provide most of the entertainment throughout the game.

What does "following a school you attended" have to do with a dj helping to pump up the crowd and players before a game? And who are you to declare whats fun for everyone and what isnt?

In an effort to become a better person and sports presentation professional, I wouldn't be doing my job if I didn't ask the following questions to those who say "he sucks" or no to a DJ.

1. Please explain in detail the reasoning behind: "Yoshi sucks."
What is it exactly about me that gives you the interpretation that "I suck?"

During my time at Rutgers, was it my music selection for the players? Was it the way that songs were mixed? Did my transitions, of getting from song a to song b bother you? What specifically about the above bothered you?

2. I completely agree with people when they want to hear more band. AGAIN, my time with the B1G Ten, I believe in being band heavy. I'm the music director for B1G Championships, and I'm in constant communication with the in game director so that there's a happy marriage between piped in music and two bands.
Travel around the country watching other bands and music directors marry their arts together to create their program's game day experience. So
For the band lovers, when do you want to hear the band?
Situationally what would you have the band do/play/chant to draw you into the game more?

And for those who legitimately don't like me as a person or what I do, I completely respect that. Your feelings are your feelings, but I would ask that you objectively examine your memories as to why me as a DJ sucks or any DJ in general for music within a game presentation format doesn't work for you.

Feel free to email me directly with your suggestions, call me or even schedule to meet me. I'll be more than happy to sit, share a drink and discuss your feelings, objectives and thoughts.

Thank you and Happy New Year.

I beg you, please do not start with this stupid mantra about the R-U chant and how its not done correctly. The only good thing about the Ash era was not hearing this stupid argument. Good job DJ Yoshi.
