One of the best games I’ve ever seen. I can’t believe the Chiefs got into FG range in 13 seconds from the 25. Impressive QB play. Poor defense from both teams. Question for you rules mavens. The pass to Kelce with 7 seconds left in regulation, he caught it with 3-4 seconds left in the middle of the field. If the Bills don’t touch him, does time run out. Or does the clock stop if he slides and gives himself up.

Refs wil blow it dead eventually since he gave himself up. Kc also had a timeout so they would have stopped it in time.

That was a championship game. Even if you say a conference was added, that would be next weeks game.
Should’ve stopped them when they had the chance. But a dam shame that the defense ran out of gas in the last 2 minutes. No other way to explain why they were in a prevent vs Hill’s speed, Kelcie over the middle, and Mahomes vs a 4 man rush.

In a 4th Q shoot-out eveybody is gassed from running downfield and from rushing the passer. It just comes down the QBs and these guys were matched in excellent fashion

Kelce is either greatest TE I ever saw or defenses are just incapable of covering him.
Its not like every completion to him is a jump ball, Half the time he's standing alone - every game with him is the same.
So if the Bills don’t touch Kelce and he slides, the refs whistle the play dead and then KC calls time out? The Bills tackled him on the play. Ashokan made a good point. Bills should have squibbed the kickoff, made KC return it and start the clock running, maybe leaving time for only one play from deep in their own territory.

I feel bad for those folks who said they would never watch the NFL again. That was an incredible weekend of football. 3 last second field goals and a truly epic OT game. And Brady getting bloodied a little lol.. I don't think you can ask for much more than that as a fan.
You don't squib it. You lay up, to use a golf term. Kick it in the air, but take something off so that it lands between the 5 and 10.

It is kinda fitting that New England did to KC what KC just did to Buffalo in terms of coin flip TD win.. still do not like it.. they can keep the rule as is in regular season games.. for TV purposes keeping game times lower... AND make a different rule for post-season play

Bills were showing the Chiefs too much respect. They were in a defense to prevent a TD, when what they needed to prevent was the 20 yard chunk play.

Tyreek Hill is just a freak that scares defenses to death. He's like a man playing among boys running around out there. I never saw anything like it. I assume that's why Kelce is so open. Kelce had normal TE stats until Tyreek made team a year before Mahomes.
Yes I'm a Bills fan and yes I'm crushed. But I'm not putting it on the OT rules. I'm laying the blame squarely on that defensive scheme in the last 13 seconds. You drop back so deep and allow the receivers a free release off the ball and to run downfield for 10-15 yards unimpeded? You make it so easy for Mahomes that he doesn't have to spend any time searching for an open receiver while at the same time seconds tick of the clock. Hill is fast enough to run thru any defense for 20-30 yards in a few seconds. You need to have somebody contact him within 5 yards. Hell even if it's beyond 5 yards it's only a 5 yard penalty. And the time that would have run off the clock wouldn't be put back on it. And on the next play to Kelce same thing. You have nobody up on him. A CB is playing outside leverage on him, and the linebacker is in the middle. Making it easy for him to just find a big open area in between them for an easy pitch and catch with room to run after the catch. They had timeouts! Just terrible. An easy 45 yards on just 2 plays with no stress and no resistance really. Just like me I hope the head coach, DC and every player on defense won't sleep well tonight.
What's great about this is Trump has had a vendetta against the NFL because they didn't let him buy the Bills so many decades ago and the USFL nonsense. How anyone could follow him off the cliff of not watching the NFL is ... well, unthinkable.

Its gets worse in late quarter. Not just because of DBs getting gassed from with running with Hill - the DL runs out of gas too. Brian Billick said that one of the hardest things to do is to keep rushing the passer. I've rushed passers and it does indeed gas you. You're really getting a full body workout from head to toe. The famous Buc DL with Warren Sapp was known to be epic - until after the first 27 plays - then they were done like alligators (you can pet an alligator after it fights because it goes dormant)
A reason the combine does those 225 bench test isn't just for strength but for endurance. They could make weight higher for lineman since 225 is mere warm-up weight for them. But the teams like to see how lineman hold-up under reps. In a 4th Q like yesterday's you could see the DLs were pretty spent and the QBs relatively decent pocket conditions (compared to say Brady)
