Yep, was expecting Rupp to be more crowded. Maybe Tenn loss affected turnout.

You would still think there would be an enormous turnout for a game as big as this one right in mid season. Everyone on here gives the Blue Hairs a rough time but where are the UK students when tickets are free and they can easily walk to Rupp to be in attendance and show the nation their craziness??? I think today's UK students are very lame supporters and have thought that for several years now, they just don't seem to be that interested in football or basketball.

The attention span for today's young people is about as long as a chimpanzee. They can' go five minutes without looking at their phones. I haven't had a cell phone for over 25 yrs. I only used it then for work. I manage to stay pretty well informed without having to look at my phone every five minutes. Watch today's telecast an notice how many of the people in the crowd are on their phones. My favorites are the fools that sit behind the announcers and make faces at the camera while talking on the phones.

You're right, what was I thinking? They have all those much bigger attractions than to pay any attention to their school's athletic teams. I feel such a fool now. [eyeroll]

I'm going to the game but could care less about the game day stuff. Been to a few before, it's whatever for me. I'm so nervous and anxious I don't wanna get in Rupp till it's time to kick some Jayhawk ***

Kind of in that mode myself. If I got to Rupp right now I'd be a bundle of nerves by the time the game started.

Hell I'm less excited about today after the UT loss. I expect UK to win, and will be pumped when it happens, but that UT loss sucked.

Judging from my time at UK which wasn't long ago my guess is that students are hungover and have better things to do then go to gameday.

2010 will never be topped, but that's a fine crowd.
Aunt Bee doing ok?

I wouldn't arrive at Rupp 8/9 hours before game time if I was just 5 min walk away.
My time is more important than that. If I were a student, I'd be sleeping, studying,
or earning some money. Be there for the game one hour before tip-off.

We're spoiled. That's no slam on BBN, because it's just human nature. And it's not just students/young people. In 2010 there were 24,000+ in Rupp for Game Day - it takes a lot more than students to get that many, and where are those people today.

In 2010 we were starved for success. We'd been wandering in the wilderness for a while, which - to borrow from Hemingway - happened gradually (Tubby) then suddenly (Clyde). We're were euphoric with what Cal had brought. Now, we find things to ***** about when we're winning and ranked top 5. Lose a game? The idiocy comes out. This board is Exhibit A. Cal will leave at some point, the wilderness will return to a greater or lesser extent. Rinse, repeat.....
