Right there with the Whitney Houston performance back in the day. Spectacular
I must be the only person who didn’t think she was that amazing
Don’t get me wrong..Miss Whitney had a spectacular voice and she made some great music. But I was not impressed with her version of the Anthem
I thought Lady Gaga was better
Chris Stapleton did a fabulous job tonight
While he was originally classified as country he reminds me more of the southern fried rock boys

Shew, I loved hers lol. I’m an absolute sucker for Whitney Houston’s voice, though.

Thing is he's a true musician and can hang with a bunch if them.

I flipped channels. The show America's Got Talent was on. There was this 13 year old girl ventriliquist who could also sing. It was amazing. She won the show in her home country of Romania. Glad I changed the channel.

Not a fan of the Star Spangled Banner and wish the anthem were something else. My dad would always tear up over "The Battle Hymn of the Republic." I envy the English and "Jerusalem." Such a gorgeous song.

[a bit later after some Googling]

Apparently the English have 2 anthems and the choice is determined by who wants to do it. The "other" song is NOT "God Save the [Queen|King]." It's "Thou Art the Ruler of the Minds of All People." Which I have never even heard of. The English sang "Jerusalem" during the Millennium celebrations.

"Jerusalem" has a beautiful tune and a comprehensible lyric -- a poem by William Blake. Ours has an unsingable tune and a run-on sentence by Francis Scott Key.

Playing at Cosmic Charlie’s in Lexington … one of several shows there … his rock band, after leaving The Steeldrivers.

Note: he was also a very good linebacker for Johnson Central … !!
