I liked Stapleton and Babyface. Didn’t care for Rihanna and her vulgar performance that I couldn’t understand much of what she was even saying. I wouldn’t have liked it if it had been a white, Mexican, or Asian performer.

WesternCat saying “I didn’t watch because I knew it would be bad”. How would he know that something would be bad before it occurred? To Jockstraps point, that’s a lot different than saying “I didn’t watch because I’m not interested in that kind of music”.

Counted at least 7 others who made it a point to come by a thread about a white performer to say that they would be switching channels to avoid watching the black performer.
I normally do not pay much attention to it, but, I was discussing the first half over the phone with my son When it started I thought I was watching a 100 dancers in chicken outfits. I kept watching to see what they were wearing when they did a close up. I will say the dancers had some stamina. Rihanna was hard to understand, but, maybe that was me because I never listened to her music. I will say they could have left out the non family friendly crotch grabbing.
Depends on the context. I have lived in several rough areas that could accurately be referred to as “ghetto areas”. If your black friend tells you “don’t go there, I don’t go there.” then you should maybe listen. But for someone to dismiss someone who was being honored at the game as “ghetto” because of a name that someone else gave them…

Maybe it is not about the performer being black, but, the content in the performance and content in past halftime shows that have not been kid friendly. Geez why does it always have to be about race? Why don't you talk about one of the biggest racists on the planet LeBron James? How about Joy Reid? People watch the National Anthem because they are proud to be Americans and they do not have to worry about the lyrics or choreography being offensive. The halftime show in the past has contained both of these offensive things by both white and black artists so they choose to comment and not watch.
Memphis is rough, but like EVERY big city in America, if you know your surroundings and know how to carry yourself, you will be fine. I’ve actually never been to Memphis, but you drop me anywhere in that city and nothing bad will happen to me. The right wing is on a campaign right now to convince whites that big cities should be avoided. It’s bizarre and counterproductive, but it’s undeniably happening.
As for judgment, you have to judge people, and you will subconsciously whether you want to or not. You aren’t being an adult if you aren’t making judgments. Every single person I come in contact with, I’m gauging mainly if they are genuine in what they are saying. It literally just comes down to whether that person is showing me basic respect and decency. My bar is fairly low. However, I currently work in a field where customers lie CONSTANTLY. If I just take everyone at their word, I won’t remain employed very long.
