Disruptor off court.
Huge Jerk to merrimans boy... put him on my list.
Poor play doesn't warrant my venom, but cursing a 11 year old (mine is ten now). Really upsets me and makes me not like him.
Everyone can make a mistake, but cursing at a kid...
Booker went out of his way to sign for mine... after a horrible game by him and a blow out loss. If he would have cursed at him...
It's crazy to me that some don't realize this. I hate what has happened to sports. We are in highly charged political atmosphere. When NFL players reintroduced politics into sports it has put every major program under a microscope. If we are to believe that a lot of these recruits, recruit's parents aren't aware, it would be stupid. It took decades to shake off the 'racist' bs that people used to associate with our program, but it's rearing it's ugly head in different ways now. Politics has saturated itself into every freaking conversation, and regretfully sports as well. Time to adapt and overcome. Get back to where this program really belongs and that is on top!!! Go Big Blue!!!
Its just a message board homie, you dont have to walk on egg shells. Say whats on your mind and if someone does not like it, oh well. There was a thread a week or two ago about his talking back to Cal. Frankly, I thought the issue was overblown and didn’t think much about it.
Now I think I was dead wrong.
I read Tyler Thompson’s article this morning about her being at the A&M game. If someone can link it, I would appreciate it. Diallo’s actions during the game are concerning to say the least. His running his mouth at Cal. He was the last one to come out of the locker room after half time- even Cal came out before him. Then he argued with teammates during the game and apparently screamed at Green after Hami was called for a foul. Not good.
I believe this team’s issues run deeper than fundamentals and missing shots- it’s a chemistry issue that won’t be resolved until after Diallo is no longer on the roster. There isn’t a player on the team like Ulis to tell him to stfu. Gabriel and Jones are the only ones who play minutes who have been here longer- and neither has the personality or the game to take control of the situation. I thought a long time before making this post, but I think it’s fair opinion on the issue. I hope I am wrong and will be the first to happily admit I am. But this team goes nowhere with Diallo playing a prominent role on the team imo due to his attitude.
He didn’t lie about it, he informed Cal and UK about his intentions. Sone fans on here don’t have that much intergrity.
True...Im not clear that merriman was actually there when it happened.
Seems quite far fetched, especially since Wenyen was implicated as well...
I seriously hope this was a misunderstanding by the kid, but who knows?
True...
I don't wish him I'll will, but not a fan before and not a supporter after.
I need to pm you about a sports business thing... get your input on good or bad idea.
Take care.
Never said he lied about it if thats what you are implying, but for obvious reasons those intentions werent made public by either him or Cal.
I heard him say the plan was to get better for next year but I also heard him say the 2017 draft would be a conversation him and Cal would have at the end of the season so it was confusing to most. If you have some quotes or links to enlighten me, Id love to read them. Hami and Cal danced around media questions and spoke in such vague terms about it all. A none and done wouldnt have been popular regardless and they both knew this.
But he came back so it really doesnt matter, but lets not forget that he decided to come back about 1 min before the deadline. Hey if you want and can go pro, just come out and say it from the get go.That would be integrity, fine if you disagree.
Fans dont have any special rights to know what players are doing behind the scenes..
And to be honest, you can locate about 100 threads where i posted quotes and other comments regarding the situation back then.
But our knee jerk alarmists had to jump on the he's a liar liar, using us, blah blah crap that made many look like worthless buttholes to be honest and I'm so glad.
Because no on had ANY evidence to back what they what they were saying while me, and a couple others provided links stating the opposite.
Besides Cal rarely shares anything.
Look at his numbers in SEC play...he's one of the major reasons we're playing like crap. Maybe he should direct that "attitude" at himself.Maybe he feels no one is their to support him. If he reads the garbage half you of you write, I'd rebel too. Easy to see what people say to him on social media, the peanut gallery on this board.
He is still a kid. I do not see a lack of effort. Guess what if he has a little attitude when the team plays like ****, that's probably a sign he does actually does care.Until i see him walking down court, laughing on the sidelines and not breaking a sweat, maybe then Ill believe his heart is not into it.
By all accounts, what everyone is saying on here is from a guy who actually cares to much.
think about it
People, if you think this message board wields this kind of power, I don't know what to tell you.
If it is the message board making him feel insecure, then he needs to roll because he's an insecure little baby who is of no use to UK.
You do realize we cant have it both ways right? On one hand, they're ready to be millionaires and don't need to be educated, they are headed to a mans game and the fans that want them back just cant deal with that.
On the other hand, mean tweets and message board posters can make them shrivel up and wilt?
How does that work?
SOMETHING needs to be done NOW ! THIS CRAP IS killing this team and FANS !! GO BIG BLUE !!!Whether he cares or not isn’t the issue. It’s his on court attitude towards the coach and his teammates that is the issue. And it doesn’t have a damn thing to do with what’s posted on this forum.
Wait til they show the families the "POLITICAL THREAD" over on The Paddock.
Oh, wait. Duke, UNC, and every west coast team has already been doing that.
We eat our young for non-basketball reasons too, and it's a damn shame.
And their pants hanging off their ***. Music blasting in their ears blows what little brains they have downward and with nothing to hold it in, brains are falling out.It is like I tell my children, If you ever learn to listen to me it would save you a lot of heartache.
Most Kids today run around with blinders on and something playing in there ears.

It was said early and never denied, you need to keep up with your reading if you going to get butthurt when UK and Cal doesn't let you know things personally. You are a fan, nothing else, you need to move on over this.
Dont care for him. Won't be sad when he is gone...hopefully soon.
edit: This is the first player, I have ever felt this way about.
One guy proudly displays his "affiliation"
Also felt the best way for him to get ready for next year since that was his "plan" wouldve been getting some minutes last year. Some experience on the road, in the SEC tourney, in the NCAA tourney maybe couldve helped him/team for this year. It couldnt have hurt thats for sure.
Butthurt? Ive got bigger things going on in life than to get that upset about Diallo. Just always felt it couldve been handled better thats all. No doubt it could have helped him as a college player this year... but why are you discounting the huge potential of an NBA draft pick if they DONT SEE HIM?
He knew he wasnt ready, so did Cal. Coming in at the end of a P5 season as a HS Senior would be awful for even a great player. Total exposure and zsero chance of being drafted.
HD wanted that opportunity to sneak in to the NBA, he had a slight chance with just one good workout. And Cal promised him that opportunity.
Why blow that? And why is it so difficult for smart people to not be able to grasp this? Even if you dont like it?
Sorry, it just seems so many get upset over the kids without really knowing the real story on anything.
I grasp it, I understand it,and I still do not like it. OAD is a struggle for me, a NAD will be too much. I will have to become as KyBassFan so affectionately calls it, CLOD, just like I became a member of the LOD during the last 2 years of Tubby. No doubt it could have helped him as a college player this year... but why are you discounting the huge potential of an NBA draft pick if they DONT SEE HIM?

Agree with everything you just typed. I have moved on from that, so I am not going to rehash it now. I wish he could explode for us the rest of the year. But, I have little faith that will happen. But in this case that makes zero sense.
Diallo was not on the team last season when it launched and wasnt expected to be.
He obviously wasn’t remotely close to being able to contribute. This he had zero impact on that team.
We were not recruiting any other 2Gs and he was the highest rated so he didn’t cost us another player.
Worst case scenario he never plays for us.
We received the best case scenario except he’s still not that good.....
This was a zero risk high reward play that Cal had a 90% chance would go his way and it did.
So what if a kid we never had lived in our dorm for 3 1/2 months?
Genius move on Cal’s part and no one can blame Diallo for trying to sneak in the draft without being exposed.

I am going to disagree with you for this reason. Last year, I was worried that if Diallo joined the team and played mid season, it might hurt team chemistry, and rotation patterns. I still believe that would have happened. We came within a last second shot and some bad calls from going to a FF. I think had Diallo had played, we would not have got that far, we will never know, but that was my gut feeling.Im on board with all that you said except one thing. I believe he couldve contributed last year in a limited role. We play 99% man to man and Cals offense is not rocket science. Conditioning wise, he was at worst as ready as Vanderbilt was when he returned. Several reports were he was one of the best players in practice (I know, I know). A limited role of an energy guy wouldve been more than doable and not only helped him this year, but the team last year. Specifically, the games Fox was injured and games we were in foul trouble (UNC).
Maybe Im selfish, Im all for players first as long as the team is thriving. But when its not, its a harder pill to swallow.
Ill let it die now.
Like you, i don't give a crap about the draft or the NBA. I am a UK fan, could care less about the NBA, or star rankings on recruits we get. If we get top ranked guys and they help us win games with a shot at a title, and then move on, fine. I am ok with that, but these mediocre guys leaving early while we lose decent guys to transfer, is becoming more than I want to swallow. It’s almost to the point that I feel like I need to apologize for being a College Basketball fan.
It seems like more and more of our so called fans seem more preoccupied with the NBA and why our guys should all leave.
Frankly, I’m past the point of being tired of the turnover with guys who are half assed players looking to leave as fast as they get here. How about recruiting guys that actually aren’t looking for a way out of here 5 minutes after they step foot on campus?
Where is the GD pride of putting on a Kentucky uniform any more? Some of you seem more interested in mock drafts, NBA highlights, and just about everything except how we can get back to getting guys who want to actually be here. Hell, right now there’s a 5 page thread on some half assed NBA player on RR.
We have numerous posters on here that continually tell us about mock drafts, guys getting drafted on potential, yadi yadi yadi...that’s just great. You know what? I don’t give a **** about any of that.
I’ll tell you this, if Cal has more than 2 guys leave, then you NBA lovers on here might want to become full time NBA fans for good next season, because we’ll be even worse than we are this season.

I'm sure Diallo is a good kid. He's just not as good a basketball player as he thinks he is.

You are a clown. You come run your mouth on the politics thread and embarrass yourself and then claim any conservative viewpoint from a fan keeps black players from coming here?
You are the worst on this forum.
Do my views get under your skin, honeybunch?
The thing is - I have no problems with people based on their political views. If that's all the "POLITICAL THREAD" was actually about, no sensible person could have a problem with it.
But saying "blacks" are "lazy"...blind hate towards all Muslims...taking a dump on anyone who lives in America but their primary language isn't English...
That's not politics. That's just ignorance and hate speech. And you don't think other coaches are showing that thread to players? I know for a *fact* that they are, buddy.
Vote red all you want. Talk about how awesome you think Trump is. But somehow race/ethnicity/religion is brought up daily in that thread. None of it is flattering, especially when it's on a UK message board.
