reading all this almost gets a person to say if you work in any way with the football team i.e. a coach, administration, or secratary your just fired. I am not advocating that I am just saying, it sounds like a complete mess up there.
How much talent did he have to work withEveryone forgets that Diaco was regarded as one of the nation’s top coordinators during his time at Notre Dame from 2010 to 2013,
Lest we forget he was the 2012 winner of the Frank Broyles Award, given to the top assistant college football coach in the country and was a semifinalist for the award in 2011.
We know it’s not fixed yet. We know there’s work to do.I’m sure you’re aware that there’s plenty of folks from those regimes still there (of which many are good folks). Why do you instantly say it’s all smooth sailing now? I’m just not ready to suddenly declare anything fixed.

It just gets old having you regurgitate it all the freaking time. And I didn’t read anywhere where he said everything is smooth sailing and fixed now. No one has said that.
Forget Banker. Diaco just threw Riley under the bus. What coach is going to get tackling instructions from an AD who knew little about football? If someone told Oz or Bob how they had to tackle they would have said, "Get the f... out of here.". (Tom would have said flip and, well we all know what Bob would have said.)
I think Riley is seething about now.
No I get that, but the all caps “give it up!” b/c Perlman/Eichorst is now gone really seems like you’re shouting down criticism of the admin when we have no clue if things are fixed.
I feel a lot better about not forcing OSU to punt one time this year.Everyone forgets that Diaco was regarded as one of the nation’s top coordinators during his time at Notre Dame from 2010 to 2013,

This post.....so much truth. He also had some pretty amazing talent to work with those years too. If it takes incredible talent just to have a competent defense, then he's no better than Pelini's defense.
But your crusade has largely been against Moos and we don’t even know for sure what we have there yet.No I get that, but the all caps “give it up!” b/c Perlman/Eichorst is now gone really seems like you’re shouting down criticism of the admin when we have no clue if things are fixed.
Didn't NU pretty much physically manhandle the UCLA team they played in the 2015 bowl game? I just remember everyone being shocked because we pounded the ball at them. Your overall point remains though. We've had an issue for the last 15 or so years though.Poor tackling has been a problem with our team since Callahan. It never improved with Pelini and it certainly hasn’t improved under Riley. Amazing that this is still a problem after 3 coaches.
So yeah, I believe there is a deeper issue here at work going on 13 years. This is an administrative problem telling coaches to just play pattycake during practice and hope we can tackle on Game Day. I mean when was the last time one of our teams really physically man-handled an opposing team? I seriously can’t recall after 2001 when we did. This BS has to change if we want to compete for Championships.

This was known right from the start I believe. He sounds downright goofy.
He tried that once and got castrated by our local media and some fans.Diaco sounds like a looney tune every time he opens his mouth. Seriously. Just. Shut. Up.
We cant keep dancing around the issue - If one assistant is bad then replace the assistant if all of them suck then we need to look at the head coach which is happening. When people say Riley is failing because he is not winning games true - however the problems go deeper and changing assistant coaches is not going to fix thisAfter listening to Diaco all I can think is.......can we just get some normal freaking coordinators in here? Good grief, tackling isn't rocket science and it shouldn't take years to figure out this system! I don't even know what to think about Eichorst. Damn, this program has been almost ran into the ground! It's time for Moos to start fresh and for crying out loud get it right this time! Damn
agreed but there have been some years better than others, 2006 , 2009,2010,2003 and a sprinkling of games since, 2014 even the offensive line took over late in the gamesOK one, and that was a pretty close game. You’re correct we did run over them in the second half. But our physicality in games have been so few and far between.
I think he would make a really good English teacherDiaco sounds like a looney tune every time he opens his mouth. Seriously. Just. Shut. Up.
Are these excuses or is it legit?
What is the excuse for the offensive line?
Can you show me one thing that has improved?
Here's another gem.
Well I don't think anyone can say that he's improved the tackling since last year. But I guess he wants to blame somebody else rather than taking responsibility for the bad tackling this year.
But your crusade has largely been against Moos and we don’t even know for sure what we have there yet.
I just don’t get criticism before he has done anything yet. You already have him pegged as a colossal failure if Frost doesn’t come no matter what the reason. You criticized Moos right away because of his age (remember Metamucil?). You criticized him because he kept Wulff an extra year. You’re criticizing him at Nebraska before he has done a thing.
Maybe if you let it rest a little, and criticize when it is warranted and not preemptively, some of us would feel differently about your posts.
That’s fair too... hopefully Admin got it right with the moos hire. We will see.Point taken, but on the other hand the admin/AD shouldn’t have the slate wiped clean just b/c Moos is now here.
