I want a video of his mistakes.
I hate these mix tapes
He showed plenty of his miscues, bad shots. I thought it was a solid breakdown of the young man.I want a video of his mistakes.

Guys never miss a shot or never throw the ball away in those tapes. I bet Montgomery even looked good in his mix-tapes.I want a video of his mistakes.

that guy has videos on BJ Boston as wellexactly. I love seeing mistakes.
growth comes from failure
I expect him here at least two years because he was really thinking about staying for his senior year in hs before reclassifying. Doesn’t seem to be in a hurry. Would love to see him stay 3. A big part of that VIllanova run was keeping the very steady Brunson there at PG for three years. He showed plenty of his miscues, bad shots. I thought it was a solid breakdown of the young man.
Should be a very good multi year player IF he is open. Based on what I saw, no chance he plays at the next level unless he somehow gets a hell of a lot quicker and more explosive. Could be a very good 4 year player however, pipe dream
Kid has a long way to go.
Mintz has been a starter on very good teams in the big east and would have started this past year had he not been injuredI just don’t think we do much this season with Askew as our primary PG. I also question whether Mintz is the answer. He seems to be more of a backup.
I really wouldn’t be surprised if Cal puts the ball in Clarke’s hands and lets him run the show. Might keep Askew in the starting lineup as a spot up shooter, though. He will probably be our best shooter. Clarke, Boston, and Brooks are all but locks to start, IMHO. The other two spots are up in the air.
I like this comparison. I was going to say he reminded me of Shai Alexander. Shai wasn’t a very quick pg, but he was able to get to his spots and set others up. He was also able to defend well. Askew fits that description, plus, he can shoot.Reminds me of Derrick Jasper but with a better shot.

Tyler was quick. Askew is not. Tyler was rarely off-balance when he drove the lane even with his small stature. Askew does not. Other than being pass first PG's, I see nothing else in common with them.He looks like a taller Tyler Ulis to me with the same strengths and weaknesses Tyler possessed coming in. People were complaining about Tyler's height and that he was not uber-athletic and won't be able to finish at the rim and big guards will be able to post him up...yada, yada, yada...
The tape on Devin shows that he has great passing ability and is a really good shooter. We need the first ability over the second with the group we have coming in. Devin will keep the defenses honest which will open up the middle for our athletic wings to operate. With him and Boston on the court, we will not see any zones against us.

Best pg we have had since Ulis in terms of being a real pg and shooting. Askew might have the best vision of any Cal pg ever.

I hope he is ready. Would be nice to have an experienced PG.
But the last time we had a transfer PG, he was a starter at another P5 program and he lasted barely one season and it ended in the NIT.
