Our guards tonight:

Harper: 32 min, 7 pts (3-11, 1-5, 0-2), 4 rb, 3 ast, 2 stl, 2 tov, 2 pf
Derkack: 16 min, 6 pts (2-3, 0-1, 2-2), 1 rb, 2 ast, 1 stl, 1 tov, 3 pf
Williams: 17 min, 6 pts (3-6, 0-1, 0-0), 1 rb, 3 ast, 0 stl, 5 tov, 4 pf
Acuff: 15 min, 0 pts (0-2, 0-2, 0-0), 1 rb, 3 ast, 1 stl, 1 tov, 1 pf
Davis: 11 min, 0 pts (0-2, 0-1, 0-0), 1 rb, 1 ast, 1 stl, 0 tov, 2 pf

Harper rolled his ankle and was not really involved much after that.
Williams was a turnover machine.
Who among Derkack, Acuff, and Davis was going to play guard?

Energy better but still hasnt figured out going for steals is not all that defense is. Needs better positioning focus and taking no time off. The helter skelter end was his best because no discipline needed. Needs that energy w thinking

I don’t get it. Did Fluox say Jordan was the worst of our guards? I don’t recall that and doubt it.

As an aside, the missed 3 at the buzzer shouldn’t even be presented on his stat line for this game. The game was over.

Good half or not against Michigan State - he's an end of the bench guy on this level who should not get anywhere close to the minutes he gets. That he has so many opportunities tells you how poor this team really is.

Maybe he just needed to be a little north of home

he averages 21 minutes per game thats rotational minutes for a player who is a rotational piece on most average to above average teams

Can you please let us know what other "end of bench guy" would score 26 at MSG against the #8 team in the country?

Derkack is a maddening player because he tries to do crazy things like throwing a bounce pass through two/three defenders. But he's clearly a talented kid. He also seems to lack feel defensively. He hesitates on close outs which drives me nuts. But after today it's hard to imagine how our best backcourt isn't Dylan and him.

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA

This reminds of the scene in Money Ball where the A's are on a losing streak and Giambi is dancing on the table to "We got the funk, gotta have that funk". Billy Bean walks in and takes the bat to the stereo and says Is Losing fun? Then why are you having fun?

Reality is DH couldn't play at 100%. MSU made some adjustments in the 2nd half and looked to double Ace whenever he touched the ball. Derkack is still a selfish player. There were a couple balls that he could have rebounded but instead chose to try to break out looking to be the outlet on a fast break. Selfish

I'll admit, I have made this a little bit too much of a personal crusade. I may need to take a mental health break from this thread. No offense intended, and just having a little message board fun. Hope none of the Mets fans are on here. I went on a crusade 2 years ago defending Vogelbach. It wasn't as much as I thought Vogelbach was a good player, it was Mets fans directing their ire as if Vogelbach was THE problem with the team sucking.

Hopefully, this is a turning point for Derkack. I like to root for underdogs, like Vogelbach. But one great game does not make a great, or even a good player in the B1G.

In JD's defense, he did make a ****** bounce pass that was intercepted by MSU, so maybe he realized that was a weakness and tried to do it all himself. 😜

EDIT-oh, and I tried to include 26 gifs of suck it trebek, but this site limits 20 gifs per post. dammit. 😂

We all bleed RED here. At least I hope so. I know there are some SHU fans that love to crap on us. I just want RU to Win. A season that was full of promise has turned into a bag of Sh*t! We don't play like a team and that's been a huge problem. Everyone on this team needs to box out when you are in and go get F'ing rebounds. The turnovers are maddening. It was a great night to get dinner at Keens. The game not so fun.

Team stinks. That’s why we lost the way we did

It’s hard to support 36% shooting, 20% from 3 and only a 1.5 assist to TO ratio getting 21 mins a game or starting.

Any team can use a dercack. He’s stepping up in competition so gonna make mistakes. Kids tough. That’s what we are short on
Maybe just maybe he made the adjustment on his shot. All year he hesitated on every 3 taken. Not yesterday. He just let it fly. Much better results. He was also more under control on his drives as they had him posting up their smaller guards and he got some and ones yesterday. We have seen no consistently all year from the supporting cast but if Jordan can give us a solid game scoring 10-15 as we will unlikely get 26 from him again. Hopefully yesterday helps his confidence going forward to help ACE and when healthy again Dylan when he gets back. God knows we need it.
